This PR releases 0.60.0. It ships one feature, #679 — dla is a second name for aid.

What changes

  • dla is a second name for aid. It is the same program, and dla --version prints aid <version>. The wheel, the conda package and ./dev.sh ship it. #679 has the details.
  • The version moves from 0.59.4 to 0.60.0 in all four copies: rust/Cargo.toml, rust/Cargo.lock (by cargo update -w --offline, 5 workspace crates only), the README conda badge and the README dl --version transcript.
  • CHANGELOG.md gets the ## [0.60.0] - 2026-10-16 heading, and the entry gets (#679).

The change adds a binary and changes no public API, so this is a minor bump.

How I checked it

  • pixi run test: 844 passed, 42 deselected.
  • rust/target/release/{dl,aid,dla} --version print dl 0.60.0, aid 0.60.0 and aid 0.60.0.
  • git diff rust/Cargo.lock changes only the 5 workspace crates.

Merge danger

Door: one-way. The merge starts the publish to PyPI and the conda channel, and a published version cannot be taken back.

Blast radius: small. The release adds dla and changes nothing in dl or aid. The wheel is about 3.5 MB larger.

Reviewer's guide (collapsed on small PRs)

Reviewer's Guide

This release PR prepares version 0.60.0 by propagating the new version through Rust package metadata, the lockfile, and documentation, while recording the existing dla alias feature and its release date in the changelog. Review should verify that only the intended workspace lockfile entries changed and that all published artifacts and documentation consistently identify 0.60.0.

File-Level Changes
