- **Mega rule.** "Mega" now needs the ex suffix as well. "Mega Signal", a Trainer, had been taken for a Mega ex.

R10 card lists regenerated: `rainbow-glitter-sheen` 467 cards, `prismatic-pokeball` 4.

## 2026-10-19 — R12: Basic Energy printings get generated plates; energy variant fixes

**Decided by:** @cheyras ("Keep going until you don't have a 'still not done' to report on SV/ME"; "are we sure
TCGdex has no images for basic energy?")

**Decision:** TCGdex carries no card images for Scarlet & Violet Energy (sve) or Mega Evolution Energy (mee). Its API
has no `image` field for them, and every asset URL is a 404. DeckPal reads its catalog from TCGdex, so it has none
either. Limitless's card CDN has all 32, and pokemontcg.io has sve 1–16. The plates are generated from the Limitless
scans. Those resize onto TCGdex's 600 × 825 framing with zero offset, checked against a main-set energy that both
sources carry. The scans are used only to generate the plates (see NOTICE.md).

The SV/ME reverse generator handled Basic Energy as Special Energy (a text band and a star mosaic). That is wrong:
on a local reference plate, Basic Energy is foil across the whole art rectangle. A new generator (run
`modular-basic-energy`) makes:
- the art rectangle foil at full level;
- the energy-symbol disc matte, found per card as the ring of strongest edge (the 2025 design moves it down);
- the printed white glow as ink: `plate = 1 − 0.75 · glow`, with glow normalised per card.

It agrees with the reference's light / dark split on 88–92% of the face across three reference plates. Rendered as a
mirror reverse, our plate gives the same result as the reference plate: |dL| 0.034 / 0.032 / 0.032 / 0.025 against
0.036 / 0.034 / 0.034 / 0.027. 81 variant rows (32 plates).

**Variant fixes:**
- **Tinsel energy reverses** now point at `tinsel-ii`, the modern client's tinsel film; they were on `tinsel`.
- **Poké Ball energy reverses** now point at `pokeball-masterball`, the modern silver reverse under a ball lattice;
they were on `ex-emerald`, an EX-era sheet. The reference has no record of these printings.
- **Cracked ice energy reverses** stay on `cracked-ice`. The modern client's cracked-ice film is mixed 30% over the
art and measures |dL| 0.003 on a reference card, while ours measures 0.002–0.014: both are near-invisible.

**Follow-up (same day): every SV/ME foil printing now has a generated mask.**
- **Promos:** 61 promos with no TCGdex scan get one from Limitless. svp-085 comes from pokemontcg.io. svp-190 and
mep-Museum are non-foil, so they need none. These promos are classified and generated like the rest.
- **Tera:** promo Tera detection now uses the four-template badge match, Scarlet & Violet only.
- **Odd variant kinds:** 13 printings with stamp, metal and league variant kinds (`normal-stamp-*`, `metal*`,
`normal-foil-*`) never matched the exporters' `holo*` / `reverse*` filter. They get their card's own plate (run
`modular-attach`), and 7 of them get an etch.
- **Etches:** 9 Phantasmal Flames Double Rares that had no etch get etch v2.

Checked across 6,229 SV/ME foil printings: every one has a foil plate. All 2,031 full-scope printings whose recipe
reads an etch have one. Every index row's object is in the bucket (8,351 rows checked).
