Rocket.Chat gives defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure the autonomy to run secure communications on their own terms, in mission-critical and highly classified environments.
⚠️ct/rocket.chat.sh is not on main, so there is no test command to post. Fill in Script path in the issue or fix the name, then add Ready For Testing again.
Hello! Just tried this out and got it working, but ran into a few bumps.
Ran this to pull the script: bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/community-scripts/DevScripts/refs/heads/main/ct/rocketchat.sh)"
During setup ran in Advanced Mode, gave it specific container id, static ip, used default cpu/ram/storage. During the install it prompted me for an admin email to use for the initial account (worked beautifully by the way).
However once the install script finished I switched over to the newly created LXC and immediately faced a continuously restarting rocketchat.service.
After that it took about 15-20 seconds for Rocket.Chat to show a good startup message in systemctl status rocketchat.service and ss -tulpn showed a :3000 MainThread entry as listening.
And then I was able to reach the website and login!
I have done nothing else so far, going to go through all of the Rocket.Chat webgui settings, but so far it is working.
Let me know if there is anything else I need to test.

Checked journalctl with:
journalctl -u rocketchat.service -n 30 --no-pagerAnd the relevant block was:
The installed node version that came with the default LXC for creation was 22.X.X:
So I manually installed nodejs 24 with:
Then I modified the rocketchat systemd service:
And finally reloaded systemd and restart service:
