Directories that restrict anonymous access below the root DSE answer a read of the base/schema not only with LDAP results 48/49/50 but also with noSuchObject (32) or a successful search that yields no entries (e.g. OpenLDAP ACLs). The anonymous probe cannot tell those apart from a genuinely broken BASE_DN/SCHEMA_DN, so in BIND_AS_USER mode the previous check failed every request on such a directory with "The configured base entry does not exist or cannot be read", blocking the login dialog even though user-bound requests bind fine. Skip the full set of anonymous-denial signatures in user-bound mode; other base/schema failures still fail the probe.
