Repository files navigation

Usage

python bot.py

Requirements

pip install python-dotenv discord.py tabulate

Configuration (create .env file)

Bot settings

  • BOT_TOKEN → Discord bot token (KEEP SECRET)

  • DB_PATH → path to your local slidysim solves database

    • Example: C:/programs/!PROGRAMS/slidysim29/solves.db
  • DISCORD_USER_ID → your Discord user ID

    • Example: 537316990679777280
    • Used to restrict commands to you only

IMPORTANT: Replay / file hosting setup (REQUIRED)

This project does not store replays inside the bot.

Instead:

  • Replays are saved into a GitHub repository you own
  • Links are generated using GitHub Pages

You must set this up:

  1. Create your own GitHub repository Example: https://github.com/dphdmn/mytextfiles

  2. Enable GitHub Pages

  3. Clone the repo locally using git

  4. Check index.html in the repo for redirect logic

Replay config (.env)

  • TXT_REPO_NAME

    • Example: mytextfiles
    • Your GitHub repository name
  • TXT_REPO_LOCAL_PATH

    • Example: C:/Users/dphdmn/Documents
    • Folder that contains your cloned repo
  • TXT_REPO_GITHUB

    • Example: https://dphdmn.github.io
    • Your GitHub Pages base URL
  • TXT_REPO_SUBFOLDERS

    • Example: slidy/generated
    • Folder inside the repo where replay files are stored

Replay Extension

You may run into issues when using replay links generated by the TXT repo method due to URL length limits.

To fix this, use the Chrome extension:
Download here

Alternative (no GitHub setup)

If you don’t want to use a GitHub repo:

  • Modify save_replay_and_generate_url function logic
  • Or send replay files directly as Discord attachments instead of generating URLs
