• variant.errored records that a variant failed, never why — diagnosis needs the box journal

• Ideator proposes changes to source it has never seen, decoupling hypothesis from implementation

ealt/eden#353 · Filter by author ealt opened on Aug 26, 2026

• Execution-stage failures are invisible to the ideator, which can starve an experiment while everything reports success

• No claim can ever be auto-reclaimed: expires_at is never set, so a worker stop strands work permanently

• Executor/variant needs a real process boundary from the evaluator (in-process jails are tripwires)

• eden-backup dumps the legacy /eden-experiment/db-url DSN, not the experiment's EDEN_DB_URL_PARAM — per-experiment DB backups are silently stale

• Checkpoint export §12 validation refuses (breaks auto-checkpoint) when a variant's work branch has been GC'd
