Downgrade and Beta version

We have separate release channels based on the configuration of the user (beta and latest).
In beta version 1.2.5-beta
In lasted version 1.2.4
When a user from the beta channel wants to go back to the latest channel the application should auto-update (downgrade) to the latest stable version?

With the way the auto-updater module works, I believe the only way for them to downgrade would be manually because of the semantic versioning checks.
