What is FutureGrid Cloud Metrics?

Cloud Metrics is an accounting system for open source cloud platforms. It measures allocation of virtual instances and collects metric factors for the dynamic resources. The universal framework provides unified resource utilization among multiple cloud platforms such as Eucalyptus, OpenStack, and Nimbus so that system administrators and FutureGrid users can see a usage pattern and prediction in a historical or a real-time report type. One of the fancy features of the tool is a command-line interface. Python cmd package enables that users can create their own measuring options and generate graphical charts in many different types and formats using external chart libraries such as Google Chart APIs, Highcharts, and D3.js sparkline. This tool aims to support as many cloud platforms as possible as an integrated system by closely looking at resource usage data in log files, databases, and source codes with the framework.
