# Release history

## 2.5.0 - YYYY-MM-DD

### Added

* Added an option to mark tabs that the browser has discarded or frozen to save memory with a dimmed icon and label. It's off by default and can be turned on in the *General* section of the options.
* On a fresh install, the recent tabs list is now filled in using the browser's record of when each tab was last active, instead of starting out empty until you've switched tabs a few times.

### Changed

* *QuicKey* now requires Chrome 119 or later.
* On new installs, pressing <kbd>space</kbd> now both inserts a space between search terms and selects the next item by default, matching what existing installs were already using.
* Updated the build tools and the libraries that *QuicKey* is built with, including React 19.

### Fixed

* The order of recent tabs was sometimes lost after restarting the browser.
* The tab count on the toolbar icon could show 0 after restarting the browser.
* Bad data in storage no longer resets all of your settings.
* Pressing a *QuicKey* shortcut while the toolbar menu was open could open the popup window on top of it, or keep the menu from responding to the shortcut.
* Shortcuts pressed while the extension was busy could switch tabs many seconds later. They're now dropped if they can't be handled within 2 seconds.
* Switching to the previous tab could fail when *QuicKey* was limited to the current window and the previous tab was in a different one.
* Typing a space after <b><kbd>/</kbd><kbd>b</kbd></b> or <b><kbd>/</kbd><kbd>h</kbd></b> to search bookmarks or history didn't work when the <kbd>space</kbd> key was set to only move the selection.
* The popup window sometimes failed to appear, or appeared too tall for the screen after moving between monitors with different resolutions.
* Favicons from some sites, like claude.ai, were missing, and favicons that pages set from script, like Google Sheets and Slides, were replaced by a generic one.
* Chrome's address autofill could pop up over the results while typing in the search box.
* Fixed a memory leak when the popup window stayed open for a long time, and sped up handling the first shortcut after the extension has been idle.
