Summary

  • Promotes Cline from a Tier::Extension stub to a fully-wired Tier::Cli agent-registry entry — PATH-based binary detection, npm install/update/uninstall -g cline, and headless dispatch (no subcommand needed: Cline enters headless mode automatically when stdin is piped, confirmed via cline --help and docs.cline.bot).
  • Adds clinepass_model_for_claude(): maps Claude model families (Fable/Opus/Sonnet/Haiku) to the nearest-capability ClinePass model, since ClinePass carries only open-weight models (GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, MiMo, MiniMax, Qwen) and zero Anthropic coverage (verified against docs.cline.bot) — no literal equivalent exists, so this is a documented capability-tier heuristic based on ClinePass's own reference pricing.
  • Fixes a pre-existing gap: resolve_agent() computed a [router]-configured model but its only caller discarded it, so no router-configured model ever reached the actual SDD dispatch — only an explicit --model CLI flag did. resolve_agent now returns the model, and resolve_dispatch_model() combines it with the CLI flag (explicit flag still wins) and applies the ClinePass translation when the resolved agent is Cline.

Test plan

  • cargo test -p agentflare-agent-registry — 51 passed
  • cargo test --bin agentflare cli::work — 50 passed
  • cargo test --workspace — 1450 passed, 0 failed
  • Live-verified against a real cline CLI install (via mise): agentflare agents list detects it as ready; agents install/update --dry-run emit correct npm commands

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added Cline as a supported command-line agent with headless execution and automatic approval options.
    • Added support for mapping Claude model selections to compatible ClinePass models.
    • Improved model selection when routing work between agents, including explicit model overrides and fallback handling.
    • Added JSON output and session-resume options for supported agents.
  • Tests

    • Added coverage for agent routing, model precedence, argument handling, fallbacks, and model translation.

…I now

Cline's npm package (`cline`) is now a standalone terminal agent, not just
a VS Code extension. Wire it up like Codex/Opencode/Gemini CLI: PATH-based
binary detection, npm install/update/uninstall, and headless dispatch.

No subcommand is needed for headless mode — cline's docs confirm it
triggers automatically when stdin is piped, which is how this module
always delivers the prompt.

…SDD dispatch

ClinePass carries only open-weight models (GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, MiMo,
MiniMax, Qwen) and zero Claude/Anthropic coverage (verified against
docs.cline.bot), so there's no literal Claude-model equivalent on that
provider. clinepass_model_for_claude() maps each Claude family to the
ClinePass model closest to it in capability, judged by ClinePass's own
reference pricing (higher price ~ higher tier, the same convention
Anthropic uses across its own lineup) — Sonnet's pick additionally favors
Kimi K2.7's coding-specialized variant since Sonnet is the SDD loop's
usual implementer tier.

Separately, resolve_agent() computed a RouteDecision.model from the
[router] config but its only caller (execute_work_impl) discarded it,
so no router-configured model ever reached the actual headless
dispatch — only an explicit --model CLI flag did. resolve_agent now
returns the model, and resolve_dispatch_model() combines it with the
CLI flag (explicit flag still wins) and applies the ClinePass
translation when the resolved agent is Cline.

Split the new model-routing tests (plus the pre-existing
build_extra_args_* tests they sit beside) into work_model_routing_tests.rs
to keep work.rs under the frozen LOC limit, same pattern as the existing
work_worktree_error_tests.rs split.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Cline is registered as a CLI-tier agent with headless and autonomous execution. Claude model mappings are exposed and used during dispatch. Agent routing now carries model selections and applies explicit CLI precedence.

Changes

Cline model-aware routing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Cline registry and model mapping
crates/agent-registry/src/lib.rs, crates/agent-registry/src/registry.rs
Cline now uses CLI metadata, headless execution, and --auto-approve true. Claude model families map to ClinePass models. JSON-output and session-resume mappings are exposed for Claude Code and Cursor. Registry tests and tier counts were updated.
Model-aware dispatch integration
src/cli/work.rs
Agent resolution returns the routed model. Dispatch applies CLI precedence, uses router models when valid, translates Claude models for Cline, and passes the effective model to agent arguments.
Routing and argument validation
src/cli/work.rs, src/cli/work_model_routing_tests.rs
Tests cover routed models, argument construction, precedence, fallback, agent substitution, and Cline model translation.

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 2baff

The change can route implementer-specific model and CLI arguments to a separately routed judge, which may cause incorrect evaluation behavior or failed execution. This bounded correctness risk remains unresolved and should receive explicit owner follow-up before merging.

Comment @coderabbitai help to get the list of available commands.

Code review on PR #564 flagged that autonomous_args had no Cline arm,
relying entirely on the CLI's own default instead of an explicit
override like every other headless-capable agent gets. A local config
or future CLI version change to that default would silently turn a
headless dispatch interactive with no agentflare-side guard.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Build arguments for each routed agent.

extra_args is built for implementer_agent only. Lines 875-878 confirm that the same vector is also used by review_agent. If the judge routes to a different agent, it receives the implementer model and agent-specific flags. For example, a ClinePass model can be sent to a non-Cline judge.

Pass role-specific arguments into the pipeline, or build arguments at each agent invocation. Add a test with distinct implementer and judge agents plus a routed model.

…ame (#568)

* fix: derive conventional-commit PR titles instead of using raw item names

push_and_open_pr() passed item.name straight through as the PR title, so
names like "Bugfix: ..." or "Feature: ..." failed pr-title.yml's
conventional-commit check almost every time, requiring a manual retitle
after the fact (confirmed on PRs #564, #566, #567).

Add conventional_pr_title(), which passes through an already-valid
type/scope prefix (normalized to lowercase), maps common non-conventional
prefix words (Bugfix, Feature, ...) to their conventional type, and falls
back to a keyword scan of the full name before defaulting to chore -- the
original name is always kept, only ever prefixed. CONVENTIONAL_TYPES
mirrors pr-title.yml's types list and cliff.toml's commit_parsers.

* Remove out-of-scope opencode/lean-ctx comment from init.rs

An unrelated investigation into opencode's lean-ctx MCP wiring (item #138)
left a stray doc comment on wire_opencode() that got auto-committed onto
this branch. It doesn't belong in a PR-titles bugfix and overstates what
`agentflare doctor` actually checks, so drop it here; the real design
question it raised stays with item #138.
