Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The new clean command checks current state before deleting branches, worktrees and artifacts. One small gap may remain: a build that starts in the project root after the plan is shown might not stop its output directory from being moved. This is mergeable with owner awareness of that edge case. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 4 | ❌ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning)

deleting the ref and return without deletion if any worktree has the branch
checked out; retain the existing SHA comparison and compare-and-delete flow for
branches that are not checked out.

also detect builds running from the project directory by reusing
artifacts::builder(parent, &ctx.live), while retaining worktrees::occupant(path,

On Windows canonicalize() yields a \\?\ verbatim path, which git worktree add rejects, so the two linked-worktree tests failed there. The binary canonicalizes what it compares, so the fixture does not need to. …dows
agentflare_config::paths::{canonical, is_within} wrap dunce so no caller
sees Windows' \\?\ verbatim form. The worktree guard compared a plain
current_dir() against a canonical path and never fired on Windows, so
'clean -y' run inside a worktree tried to remove it (PR #844 CI). All
canonicalisation in the clean code now goes through the module.

Running final verification: fmt, clippy, workspace tests, and `--help`.Workspace nextest had a failure — checking whether it's related to `clean` or pre-existing.**Status: DONE** — `agentflare clean` already landed on this branch; verified, no new commit. ### What was verified - `src/cli/clean.rs`, `mod clean` / `Clean` / `cleanup` alias, `pub(crate)` git helpers — all present - Unit: `cli::clean::` → **10/10 PASS** - Integration: `--test clean_cli` → **13/13 PASS** - `cargo fmt --check` → clean - `cargo clippy … -D warnings -A unsafe_code -A clippy::pedantic` → clean - `cargo test --doc --workspace` → clean - `clean --help` / `cleanup --help` → expected flags ### Workspace nextest **4002/4005** passed. 3 failures look **unrelated** (sandbox ROFS on caveman/flare-output; `mcp_prompts` “review” assert). Not from clean. ### Concerns 1. Live `clean --dry-run` in this worktree can **hang on `git fetch origin`** (network); fixture tests skip that. 2. Tree clean / already committed (`2c20bbb` + follow-up fixes); branch **ahead 1** — nothing new to commit. 3. lean-ctx gateway was readonly this run → used native fallback for some reads.Help checks finished successfully: `clean`/`cleanup --help` show the expected flags. The follow-up `clean --dry-run --branches` was stopped after it hung on `git fetch origin` (network). Integration tests still cover dry-run; that live hang is the only open note for the reviewer. Refuse update-ref deletes when a worktree has the branch checked out, reuse the project-root builder check for artifacts, and scrub GIT_* location env from clean_cli helpers so fixtures cannot hit another repo.
