feat: report interim compile-wait diagnostics so a stalled compile is visible before the timeout - #2322
Conversation
A stalled or silent Unity compile looked like an infinite hang because the CLI stayed quiet until the 10-minute deadline. Periodic stderr lines and a timeout next action make that wait visible without changing the stdout JSON contract. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughCompile waits now emit interim progress or silent-state messages during fresh and attached polling. The flow injects clock and reporting dependencies, stops the spinner before stderr output, and adds tests for timing, timeout output, and successful JSON output. ChangesCompile wait reporting
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The PR is mergeable with owner awareness, but the attach-wait timeout test relies on wall-clock timing and may intermittently fail under CI scheduling, reducing confidence in the diagnostic cadence; use the injected clock or deterministic poll control as follow-up. Interim compile reports stop the spinner, then a successful compile still called Update for the warmup message. Update rendered after Stop and the second Stop was a no-op, which left a dirty TTY line. Pin attach-wait interim reporting through the real bind path as well. must use the injected deps.now clock consistently for startedAt, deadline, and
loop-guard checks instead of time.Now(), so advancing now deterministically
reaches the second poll and expected diagnostic without relying on CI timing.

False positive: first wait-loop poll is synchronous and emits the diagnostic before the wall-clock timeout matters.
