Dependabot's js-yaml 4→5 bump (#16) fails on this repo for a reason its diff does not show: v5 drops the default export, and eleven scripts do `import yaml from 'js-yaml'`. Merging the bump alone would break the frontmatter portability audit, the OG builder, the tag normalisers, and the lifecycle audit — all of which run in gates. `import * as yaml` resolves under both 4 and 5, so this lands independently and the version bump becomes a one-line change afterwards. Verified against the installed v4 and against v5 on the PR branch, and by running the six gate scripts that parse YAML. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
