What changes

Find a word in a log, a file or any other text without hiding a line (#84). The filter keeps only the lines that match; to read a match in its place, the lines around it have to stay.

  • f on every text screen (logs, job logs, files, descriptions, job files, plans) asks for a word on the line at the top. Every match is lit, the window goes to the first match from its top, and the status line says Match 1 of 17 for "error".
  • n and N go to the next and the previous match, round past the end and the start. After you scroll away from a match, they start from what the window shows. They are offered while a word is found.
  • A word that matches nothing says so and keeps the window and the word found before. Enter on an empty line drops the find; esc keeps the word as it was.
  • The word matches the way the filter does, a regular expression when it is one and in any case, but it is taken as written: ! and -f mean nothing to find.
  • The filter still narrows the lines, and find looks within what it left. A followed log stops following when find moves the window, as scrolling does.
  • docs/keys.md lists the keys on every text screen.
