The README now leads with one checksummed install command and a local quickstart, while detailed setup remains in the book. The canonical stack table includes all twelve projects.

The root installer retains the compatibility entrypoint, validates archive/checksum structure and the staged executable version, and refuses unsupported targets before replacing an existing command. Linux arm64 remains explicitly unsupported by the published Tambo archives.

Validation: just check, just book, and just docs-check pass (847 links, zero errors); ten isolated bootstrap controls pass. The actual Linux x86_64 v0.4.0 release installed and reported the expected versions in a temporary prefix. No host install or release was performed.

Recorded demonstration and replay instructions: valid releases install; corrupt checksums, missing assets, unsupported targets and mismatched executable versions preserve prior bytes. These are fixture controls; the separate real-release check covers Linux x86_64.

This proposal delivers a standalone archive installer, a concise README and canonical twelve-project overview; it does not absorb or close PR163. Apt channels and fingerprint guidance remain at the existing apt project guide, linked from the detailed installation reference. Retain PR163 separately and reconcile its README context through normal current-base checks when it lands.
