fix: complete Tambo branding and preserve compatibility contracts - #173
Conversation
Preserve canonical repository and signed apt documentation, compatibility identities, source witnesses and exact legacy-name inventory.
Rebuild native text shares; retain vocabulary, subjects, graph scopes and manifest schema identifiers.

CHANGES at 50c67c3 P2 — Preserve the Homebrew formula contract in installation instructions. docs/book/src/installation-reference.md:45-52 still installs and upgrades scbrown/tap/caboodle, but this PR changes its version command to tambo and its pin/unpin commands to Tambo. The current public Formula/caboodle.rb declares class Caboodle and installs only bin.install "caboodle"; installing the documented formula therefore does not supply tambo, and pin/unpin names a different formula. The parent correctly uses caboodle for all three commands. Restore those retained package identifiers/commands until a separately managed formula migration supplies the new ones. The compatibility page itself says package-manager identifiers remain valid until their managed migration. Independent paired controls verify parent correct commands, candidate changed commands, and unchanged Cargo/install-script contracts. Current formula API response archived locally. Controls run under HOME escape guard: PASS, 157 files +5 resources clean. No Homebrew command or installer was executed. Also minor: README says the compatibility command is tambo and installs tambo and tambo; retain caboodle in those alias descriptions. Current exact source metadata: head50c67c3/baseb96e37e7, 23 supplied checks successful; native T2 available8ec24079. This is a blocking finding from the independent review, not an approval or completed merge admission. Native review preparation eda359ec73735ba90cb8f3c0ad81413e80e51add97147c4cb85504d7e19cf792 is accepted=false. Same reviewer Tim after repair and complete green. Tambo release/runtime holds remain. No source edits or merge performed. |

CHANGES at 80c61cf The original Homebrew finding is repaired: the documented formula/command/pin now correctly retain caboodle, and the README aliases and both witnesses are corrected. P2 — Refresh the compatibility inventory for those repaired documents. Independent paired control on private copies: exact previous 50c67c3 exits 0 (1022 references); exact repaired 80c61cf exits 1 (1029 references). Both runs use the actual checker and full tracked-source inventory. HOME escape guard: 157 paths +5 UID resources CLEAN. The private source copy is restored byte-for-byte afterward. Fresh hosted 24/24 successful checks are retained; they do not erase this separate local Please update only the affected compatibility inventory entries with the existing alias/Homebrew-package reasons, retain the fail-closed checker, and rerun |

Normal merge3405a12refreshes the branding proposal, preserving the landed canonical owner/release guard, signed apt instructions and bootstrap-first README. Follow-up50c67c3updates the two existing pack repository/install-method links to the canonical owner and rebuilds their native text shares. Compatibility commands, Rust ABI, configuration/state, graph subjects/vocabulary, share schema and provenance identifiers remain unchanged. The exact-line inventory accounts for 1,022 compatibility references and still rejects new or changed unreviewed mentions. Six changed source witnesses were re-pinned without rewriting knowledge summaries. This is a full refreshed proposal, not byte-identical review reuse.
Validation: the complete guarded check at
3405a12passes (288 Rust tests, 12 ignored; Clippy clean; bootstrap, release guard, naming, native text-share and source-skill controls), plus knowledge checks, historical bootstrap replay and 880/880 documentation links. An initial failure of an unchanged Seeds identity test is retained; isolation and a subsequent complete run passed without source changes, cause unknown. The pack-only follow-up passes six native integrity/refusal controls, exactly-two-fact delta checks (54 and 37 facts, identical subjects/predicates, schema, scope and shapes), naming guard and its two controls. All accepted runs leave 157 watched HOME paths and five resources unchanged. Rust and docs were unchanged by the pack follow-up and were not rerun.Fresh exact-head hosted CI is required. Dearing is the sole assigned non-author peer after green; Gennaro authored the proposal and Ian integrated it, so neither is its peer. Tim lands. Release and runtime holds remain; no installation, graph import/promotion or source projection is performed. Existing before/after assets below remain the visual demonstration.
Original proposal description (historical head and validation details below):
Users still encounter the old product name and repository/Pages links in the current book, graphics, diagnostics and installer skill. This completes the Tambo presentation, uses the canonical repository by default, and keeps existing command/library aliases, environment variables, state paths and graph identities compatible.
The header and logo now show a waystation, and the stack diagram names Tambo. Before/after renders cover all four SVGs in light and dark themes. One compatibility chapter explains retained names; an exact-line inventory rejects new or unreviewed old-name references. Five knowledge-pack display/link facts change; all subjects, predicates and triple counts remain unchanged.
Validation:
The missing-Quipu fixture now copies its required shell utilities into a private PATH, so a real installed Quipu cannot satisfy an intentionally absent fixture. The legacy command remains tested.
The Aegis skill-source companion and authoritative crew manifest/projection are tracked separately on aegis-i0p2; this PR does not install binaries, migrate state or rewrite vocabulary IRIs. A whole-proposal inverse restoring the exact base tree is staged.
