As a user, I want information and tools to be grouped based on my current financial knowledge, investing goals, and risk preferences.
Description of work
The user interface should be componentized to allow elements of the user interface to be turned on and off. Abstract classes should be designed to create a common architectural interface for UI components across the software that contain enough data to be meaningful for adaptive learning. This data will include at minimum the level of financial knowledge needed to engage with the information/tool, investing goals related to the information/tool, and risks associated with the information/tool.
The team made progress in improving cross-platform compatibility by enabling the application to function on Mac devices and exploring potential support for Linux systems. They also developed a wrapper that allows JavaScript files to be interpreted as TypeScript interfaces, enabling dynamic UI customization through an AI chatbot. The epic is in progress, with remaining work including testing Linux compatibility and resolving limitations in the chatbot editing feature due to the lack of an API key. Opportunities for improvement include replacing the wrapper approach with direct JavaScript-to-TypeScript conversion for a more streamlined solution. In retrospect the team wished there was a pre existing trouble shooting document to help resolve issues that came with starting the application. They have created one since then which will be available in the wiki as a separate page. Documentation file could be found here
