I'm Joaquin and engineering student at FING (Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad de la República), based in Montevideo, Uruguay.
I learn by building the things I actually need — CLI tools, web apps, browser extensions, and desktop experiments — usually reaching for more Rust than my coursework requires.
My main project: a Python CLI that downloads, tags, and organizes music from YouTube and SoundCloud.
- Batch download queues with resume support
- Interactive metadata tagging with autocompletion
- MusicBrainz re-tagging
- Cover-art cropping
I contribute to LibreCourseUY, a community organization promoting open source, technical learning, and collaboration in Uruguay. Through it, I've worked on:
- InkFing
- The organization's GPG signing guide
- lap — an offline-first photo manager for large local libraries
- Rust-proyects — a growing collection of small Rust scripts and exercises (Rustlings included)
- Tauri — desktop app experiments
- Svelte / SvelteKit — web frontends, paired with PocketBase, Supabase, Convex, Skeleton, and daisyUI
Feel free to explore my repositories or reach out if you'd like to collaborate on projects.
