The extension compiles in LZ4 (BSD-2), Zstandard (BSD-3), bitshuffle (MIT), kcb (MIT/Apache-2.0) and the c2py23 runtime (MIT); the BSD licences require their notices in binary distributions, and only our MIT LICENSE shipped. licenses/ holds the texts and a README of what is compiled in from where; setup.cfg declares them as license_files (they land in the wheel's .dist-info), MANIFEST.in grafts the directory, and test/test_licenses.py checks the copies match the submodules' files. One uint16[6] pipeline per object (decode, mask, untranspose, collect, route, dot), 0 = auto per step, values best first; every global set_*/get_*, dot=, the option bits, pack_pipeline, available_* and the unreleased *Multi classes are gone (now .multi on the 0.0.16 classes). Values needing an instruction set are refused with a reason; auto dot is chosen from the matrix (src/_matrix.py auto_dot). C sources split into src/pipeline (step ids, registry, block loop) and src/steps (one header per step, dot layouts, kernels.cpp with explicit instantiations); macro generators replaced by inline functions. Dropped: dots csc-fused, padded-sse2, padded-avx512, the experimental 11-19 and 24; collect tiers avx512/avx2; the SSE backend; plane extraction; losing fused modes. Tests migrated (586 pass); A/B vs the previous build geomean 0.992 (EPYC 9454). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
