Can this method be used to measure the uncertainty of detail reconstruction?

May I ask if this uncertainty estimation method can be applied to some uncertainty estimates that represent details, such as defect detection tasks. I use this method based on my own model to measure the uncertainty of detected defects, but the displayed variance has no practical significance

The uncertainty estimated by this method represents if the sample is witnessed during training, i.e. the distance from training data to some extent. If your detected defects show a high variance in uncertainty, it could indicate that these defects are quite different from what the model encountered during training.
