cli auth conflicts with desktop app on Mac #216

Closed

Description

@injeniero
$ zcode --version
zcode-app-cli 3.15.3-35
zcode-runtime 0.16.9
Dektop app version
3.15.3

If I login in the app, I can use the app normally but the cli then reports it can't work. If I login over the cli, then the cli works but the app reports credentials expired.

    Hi @injeniero, thanks for reporting this! I've prepared a fix in #218 for the shared login conflict between the CLI and Desktop. CI has passed, and a preview build is available via pkg-pr-new.

    Could you try it on your Mac with Desktop 3.15.3?

    1. Sign in to Desktop and confirm you can send a message there.

    2. Start the preview CLI with:

      npx --yes https://pkg.pr.new/zcode-app-cli@404e702

      It should reuse your Desktop login. Please try sending a message in the CLI, then check that Desktop still works.

    3. Exit the CLI and test signing in through the preview CLI as well:

      npx --yes https://pkg.pr.new/zcode-app-cli@404e702 login --oauth

      Then launch the preview again with the command in step 2 and check that both the CLI and Desktop can still send messages without a credentials-expired error.

    Please use the preview commands above for this test; they run the build from commit 404e702 without replacing your global installation. Use the same account and shared data directory for both apps.

    Let me know whether this resolves the issue. If it still fails, please share which step fails and the error text, with any tokens or other sensitive details removed. Thanks!
