The marker sits above GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS in the source priority; everything downstream (token cache, refresh skew, in-flight dedup) is untouched. - api-keys: addProviderApiKey detects a pasted credential JSON (single, pretty-printed, or comma-separated for future pool rotation), verifies the "type" field, stores the secret in the OS keychain with a read-back check, and persists only the marker to config. File paths are rejected with paste guidance; unrecognized types are rejected before anything is stored. - router: usableResolvedApiKey registers the active `gcp-sa:` marker with the ADC resolver, so a marker in any pool entry becomes the active source. - adapters/google: vertex's API-key fast path skips `gcp-sa:` markers — they are not API-key material and must reach the ADC branch instead. Markers keep resolveProviderApiKey synchronous (no signature changes) and work naturally with the existing 429 key-pool failover: each pool entry can independently hold a raw key, an ${ENV} ref, a keychain: ref, or a gcp-sa: marker, and per-key cooldown rotation applies unchanged. The marker account now travels per request via getVertexAccessToken(options.markerAccount) and flows through currentAdcSourceKey/loadAdcCredentials as an argument. The reconcile sweep passes no marker (no request context) — marker entries are pruned by expiry instead. - adapters/google: pass gcpCredentialMarkerAccount(provider.apiKey) per request. router: drop the registration; the routed provider config carries the marker verbatim. - api-keys: delete a just-written keychain entry ONLY when the write created it — on a failed commit, an upsert must keep the credential the previous reference still names. - tests: narrow the adapter assertion to the ADC-shaped request (URL + Bearer header + no x-goog-api-key, with a stubbed fetch), and isolate the marker-source tests from host ADC state (empty CLOUDSDK_CONFIG, no GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS, 404 fetch stub). …ng (lidge-jun#6842) Address CodeRabbit round-2 findings: - router: usableResolvedApiKey returns gcp-sa: marker values UNCHANGED — replacing a marker with undefined (it resolves to no key material) would silently drop it from the routed config and send the vertex adapter to host ADC instead of the configured service account. - api-keys: storeGcpCredentialJson takes existedBefore and deletes the keychain entry after a read-back mismatch only when the entry did not exist before the write — a re-paste targets an account an existing marker already names, and deleting it would destroy the live credential. - api-keys: splitCredentialPaste honors the parseGcpCredentialJson contract (a single-line brace-leading literal is never eaten — it falls back to a plain key row), tracks JSON string/escape state in the brace scanner (a } inside a string field no longer splits early), and rejects non-separator content before/between objects instead of discarding it. - tests: router-level pass-through test (routedProviderConfig preserves the marker), end-to-end test (routed config feeds buildRequest, ADC branch wins), literal-key fallback + gap-rejection tests. Markers keep resolveProviderApiKey synchronous. Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>
…rkers; strict paste validation (lidge-jun#6842) Address Prana review findings: - adapters/google: a `gcp-sa:` marker means the operator named ONE credential explicitly — the GOOGLE_CLOUD_API_KEY env fallback no longer fires. Without this guard, a marker + env key would silently route the provider's inference through the ambient env key instead of the configured service account. - providers/api-keys (capture): a parseable JSON object with an unrecognized "type" field (e.g. external_account) is REJECTED with guidance, not saved as a plaintext literal key — saving it would send it to the wire verbatim. Non-JSON brace values ({abc:def}) keep their key-compat behavior. - providers/api-keys (tail): content after the LAST object's close up to EOF is validated like the mid-gaps — trailing garbage is rejected, not silently kept. (Covers captureTrailing otherwise.) Registrations: per-finding regression tests added (explicit-credential-wins for markers, JSON-with-unknown-type rejection, tail-gap rejection). src/server/management/provider-routes.ts:1860-1868
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winInclude durable provider markers in DELETE cleanup.
If a provider save fails, the live provider row can differ from the durable provider row. The DELETE handler collects markers only from
config.providers[name], then commits the deletion and callscleanupRemovedGcpCredentials(removedCredentials). A marker that exists only in the durable row is therefore removed from persisted configuration without being passed to cleanup. Its OS-store credential can remain orphaned.Read the durable provider row and include its markers before deleting the provider, as the replacement path already does.

Scoped follow-up at dc6e85b8152350da0620a86f559562bef51d40ee.
I inspected the latest CLI overwrite/raw-input corrections. Raw pasted credentials are validated before forward/OAuth branches ignore --api-key. Overwrite snapshots live and valid durable row markers while holding the mutation lock, then starts cleanup only after successful persistence and after the collision-refusal return. Cleanup re-reads persisted references and preserves shared gcp-sa/keychain accounts. These are source checks of the reported correction, not independent OS-store/deletion/fault-injection qualification or full boundary approval.
Your 68-case receipt belongs to this exact head but uses the former 1.4.0 runner. Current dev is 3bb7a5612c: the branch is now 33 commits behind, so the description's 9-behind/readiness statement is stale. Please refresh/reconcile with current dev and qualify with testRunnerBun1.4.3, preserving the synthetic credential/store seams. Cross-platform CI38282267652 remains action_required; no executable CI success is established. Foreign Cargo builds prevent local execution in this pass. No scan, real credentials/keychain operation, sponsorship, workflow approval, technical approval or merge was performed.

@Ingwannu Thank you for the scoped review. Addressed the author-side follow-ups at 21b9aa3: merged dev 6da2774 without rewriting history; qualified 384 distinct focused cases using Bun 1.4.3 and the synthetic credential/store seams. Exact commands, interrupted attempts and final successful receipts are at the top of the description. The only merge-composition follow-up extracts duplicated durable marker snapshots to the existing cleanup module to satisfy the unchanged file-size ratchet, with three new regressions. Typecheck, structure, privacy, size and docs build passed. Independent security/OS-store qualification and exact-head Cross-platform CI remain open; this is not an author self-approval. Could the required independent review and exact-head CI be scheduled together for these PRs? We will continue to honor the ten-commit readiness window and reconcile actual conflicts/overlapping changes, but each resynchronization resets readiness and automated review while unrelated dev commits continue to land. A coordinated review/CI window would reduce repeated refresh-only churn without relaxing the acceptance gates. @coderabbitai review |

Latest-dev synchronization after upstream integration
Current head:
59c4e2c018becc3527e4cabbd36afb203174f809. Ordinary merge of dev9b31677c4704215e8f3db1c321a38b36b40062a9, preserving prior contribution and maintainer history. No rebase or force push. The already merged Claude tier-default implementation stays in dev; this PR does not reintroduce it as a separate feature.Manual conflicts were limited to the two test layout inventories.
The new upstream
explicitShardslayout is preserved. Structured comparisons against the canonical shard-aware loader verified both parents' inline mappings in the combined map and both parents' expected-fixture mappings. No entry was dropped. Layout/shard-collision regressions passed.Bun 1.4.3, serial standard wrappers, guarded isolated HOME and synthetic credentials/local fixtures:
Existing dependencies were reused; no operating runtime/dependency installation, live credentials/configuration, restart or deployment was performed. Documentation keeps existing chunk/content warnings. The shared-host full-suite resource exception remains because of documented CPU/RAM/swap exhaustion and concurrent-lane contention: focused integration coverage above is local evidence, not a full-repository, platform or new-head hosted CI pass. The imported upstream changes outside these tested paths still rely on final exact-head CI. Earlier receipts below apply only to their named heads. New-head CodeRabbit and readiness automation run independently.
Current-head test inventory conflict reconciliation
Current head:
dc8c11300d2c22348509082ed9c11393daf463cb. Merged devd934632184d0596e09844ae5b65d97f72e3ee924through a normal merge without rewriting history. The sole manual conflict wasscripts/test-layout/layout.json. Kept the PR-specific entries and upstreambounded-file-read.test.ts; structured comparisons verified every entry from both parents in both layout.json and the automatically merged expected-layout fixture. No manual runtime changes were made. The initial multi-line resolution reached the unchanged 2,000-line threshold; retaining the existing inline entry grouping fixed the ratchet without dropping entries or increasing a baseline. The final JSON layout tests were rerun after that format-only adjustment. A first parent-comparison helper could not spawn git inside the sandbox (EPERM); the successful comparison used git's JSON output and a separate structured parser without nested process spawning.
Validation uses temporary repository-required Bun 1.4.3, serial runs, guarded isolated HOME and synthetic fixtures:
332 distinct focused cases passed. Upstream integration/journal and non-operating diagnostic restart fixtures are included in that coverage. Existing dependencies were reused; docs retain their existing chunk/content warnings. No operational config, real credential store or service restart was touched. The documented shared-host full-suite exception remains; no full-suite, native platform or current-head hosted CI pass is claimed. Older receipts below belong only to their named heads. Readiness reattestation and new-head review/CI are separate from these local results.
Blank-marker cleanup follow-up
Current head:
200e2d94b93b92d2b683d0be63716ff5693dbe7c. Addresses CodeRabbit discussion_r4255744503. The cleanup-only parser skips GCP accounts that are empty or whitespace-only before calling the strict account parser. Both the persisted retention scan and captured removal loop use it. It does not catch unrelated failures, normalize valid account identities, weaken request authentication, or grant cleanup authority to non-GCP captured strings.Four synthetic regressions cover blank/whitespace accounts in persisted keys/pools and captured removals, while preserving active GCP references and keychain aliases. After correcting the fixture to persist the test provider before key-pool writes, the pre-fix run fails at the cleanup expectations: 0 pass, 4 fail. The corrected final source passes:
Test HOME and credential store are isolated/synthetic. No live secrets, settings or services changed. Public docs-site content is unchanged by this follow-up, so its passing build at the prior head is reused rather than rerun. The existing full-suite resource exception, required independent security/OS-store qualification and maintainer-authorized platform CI remain open. Older receipts below belong only to their named historical heads. Renewed review and readiness automation are separate from these local results.
Current-head dev refresh and Bun 1.4.3 qualification
Current head:
21b9aa389ab1484a5614a0a4ee32781bc2704b00. Ordinary merge of dev6da2774369aa32552e318e333902499683d053bcpreserves contributor and maintainer history; no force push. Addresses the maintainer's stale-dev and old-runner observations. Latest dev advanced by one diagnostic-fixture commit during validation; this head remains within the published ten-commit readiness window. The automatic merge reached the 2,000-line new-file threshold in
provider-routes.ts. Rather than increasing its limit, moved the duplicated live/durable marker snapshot intosnapshotProviderGcpCredentialMarkersin the existing GCP cleanup module. Overwrite/removal call sites retain the original snapshot ordering and post-save cleanup. Three added regressions cover live + valid durable references, absent live row, and empty/malformed durable files without mutating them. No real credential store, user configuration or operational services were changed. All tests below ran with repository-required Bun 1.4.3 and guarded isolated HOME/synthetic credentials. Wrapper and test runtime use the same temporary pinned binary:
384 distinct focused tests are qualified across the runs; the 31 unchanged management cases rerun with the three new cases are not counted twice. Existing dependencies were reused without installation/replacement, and no operating Bun upgrade was performed. Existing documentation warnings remain.
Two sandboxed parallel attempts timed out before producing case results (exit 124); a later parallel attempt was interrupted, not passed. A single-file serial run passed. Subsequent serial work encountered a stale PID-3 test lock. Read-only host process evidence showed no PID 3; the standard runner then reclaimed the lock and completed the final serial run on the host. No manual lock removal or no-queue override was used. This is execution-environment evidence, not proof of a product defect or the complete cause of every interrupted attempt.
The documented shared-host full-suite resource exception remains. These author-side tests do not substitute for independent security/OS-store review, Windows/Linux credential-store qualification, maintainer-authorized exact-head CI or final merge approval. Historical receipts below apply only to their named older heads. Fresh CodeRabbit review is requested for this head.
Readiness reconciliation for current head
Current head:
dc6e85b8152350da0620a86f559562bef51d40ee. This head is unchanged from the validated raw-input follow-up. Reuse the exact-head receipt in issuecomment-6128962794: pinned Bun 1.4.0, isolated HOME,bun scripts/test.ts --parallel=2 tests/server/management-gcp-credential-input.test.ts tests/adapters/google/gcp-sa-marker.test.tspassed 68 tests / 321 assertions, exit 0; root typecheck, structure, privacy, file-size and diff checks all exited 0. No passing unchanged tests were repeated. The preserved maintenance fixes and CLI follow-ups cover credential ingestion, shared-reference cleanup, stale durable provider rows, save failures and raw forward/OAuth input validation. CodeRabbit status is SUCCESS and no unresolved inline threads remain; the last outside-diff raw-input finding is addressed by this head with eight regressions. Readiness attests these known findings, not maintainer approval.
Compared against dev
a63267c1349f178b52cf7e5d4d158e8f1e4be075, the PR is 9 commits behind, within the at-most-10 requirement; no unnecessary merge was added. Earlier verification sections below describe historical named heads. The existing shared-host full-suite exception remains: complete repository/platform CI is unverified locally and requires maintainer authorization/success before merge. No real credentials or services changed.Summary
Accept pasted GCP
service_accountandauthorized_userJSON through a provider's dedicated key-pool endpoint. Store credential JSON in the OS credential store and persist onlygcp-sa:references. Vertex resolves the explicit account per request, fails closed if it is unavailable, and supports existing pool rotation alongside ordinary keys. Cleanup follows the durable config commit and retains accounts referenced by any provider through eithergcp-sa:orkeychain:.Provider create/overwrite and
ocx provider add --api-keyreject raw credential JSON before saving. Create the provider without a key, then add credentials through its key pool. JSON-only batches are transactional; mixed JSON/literal batches are rejected entirely. OS-store failure responses omit native error details that might contain credential material. Keychain store/restore preserves GCP references and payloads, and restore refuses GCP JSON reached through akeychain:alias before it could enter config or backups. Verified credential writes and marker commits hold the same mutation lock as cleanup, and rebased callbacks repeat idempotent writes.Closes #6842. Supersedes #6841.

Contributor history is preserved through ordinary commits; no force push or rebase.Final regressions cover removal between read-back and commit, plus a separate Bun process denied the cleanup SQLite write lock during credential storage. Google tests and the new management regression are registered in both layout inventories; moved tests resolve their repository through the shared helper.
Resource exception: five worktree lanes share this host.
bun run test:changedwas attempted but waited on another lane's global Bun lock and was interrupted (exit 130) before tests ran. This is not a pass. Full-suite, hosted platform and packaging validation are deferred by the owner to the final integrated run. Tests used synthetic credentials and isolated homes, with no operational settings or service changes.Fresh independent Sol code/security review: PASS on the exact final SHA, all 20 changed files reviewed, no P0–P2 findings (
blocking_issues: []). It reran management input/marker/key-store tests (60 pass, 0 fail, 251 assertions), adapter tests (6 pass, 0 fail, 15 assertions), and the read-only Lab boundary filter (8 pass, 0 fail, 8 assertions). Both concurrency regressions passed. Previous migration, account-retention, JSON restore, and concurrent cleanup findings are fixed. Local evidence does not claim hosted CI or maintainer approval. Real Linux/Windows credential-store behavior still requires the final platform run; noncooperating config writers retain the documented filesystem race limitation.Checklist
