Keep the explicit source block sequence while accounting for the existing reasoning-to-message translation split. The repeated-anchor exchanges must all remain absent and the earlier assistant turn must remain intact. Co-authored-by: Vadym O <bolein95@gmail.com>

Synchronize translated server-tool documentation
The updated English contract now says orphan, ambiguous, and incomplete server-tool exchanges are dropped, but the corresponding tables in zh-cn line 500, ko line 578, ja line 538, and ru line 574 still state unconditionally that search and fetch results are returned as paired blocks. Readers of those locales therefore receive behavior guarantees that this change explicitly removed; update the directly affected translations with the same conditions and replay semantics.

Anthropic official web search tool server_tool_use caller field dynamic filtering web_search_tool_result tool_use_id schema
💡 Result:
Anthropic’s official docs establish the key points:
- **Dynamic filtering:** With `web_search_20260209` or later, web search runs inside code execution. `allowed_callers` defaults to `["code_execution_20260120"]`; set it to `["direct"]` to force direct searches. ([docs.anthropic.com](https://docs.anthropic.com/zh-CN/docs/agents-and-tools/tool-use/web-search-tool?utm_source=openai))
- **Result linkage:** A search call is a `server_tool_use` block with an `id`. Its corresponding `web_search_tool_result` has `tool_use_id` matching that ID. ([docs.anthropic.com](https://docs.anthropic.com/zh-CN/docs/agents-and-tools/tool-use/web-search-tool?utm_source=openai))
- **`caller` field:** When dynamic filtering is used, the response includes code-execution result blocks, and each nested `server_tool_use` / `web_search_tool_result` pair has a `caller` field identifying the code-execution call that initiated it. ([docs.anthropic.com](https://docs.anthropic.com/zh-CN/docs/agents-and-tools/tool-use/web-search-tool?utm_source=openai))
- **Schema caveat:** The docs describe the field’s meaning, but the cited response example is for **direct** search and does not show the exact `caller` object shape or its full schema. That detail remains unresolved from this source. ([docs.anthropic.com](https://docs.anthropic.com/zh-CN/docs/agents-and-tools/tool-use/web-search-tool?utm_source=openai))

Preserve the streamed server-tool call block before emitting a pair.
serverSearch stores only the call ID and streamed input. The result path then rebuilds use from the result type, which drops fields such as Anthropic’s dynamic-filtering caller. The same branch also accepts a same-ID result without checking that its tool type matches the original call.
Retain the original call block, require the call name to match the result type, and override only its streamed input.

official Anthropic Messages API TypeScript types web_search_tool_result web_fetch_tool_result content null invalid
💡 Result:
**Yes—treat `content: null` as invalid** for both result blocks.
The official Anthropic TypeScript SDK exports `WebSearchToolResultBlock` and `WebFetchToolResultBlock`. The API reference describes each result’s `content` as a specific content type—not nullable: web search content is a list of results or an error object; web fetch content is a fetched document or an error object. ([platform.claude.com](https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/api/typescript/messages?utm_source=openai))
So a type such as `content: ... | null` would not match the documented response shape. The exact declarations depend on your installed SDK version; the cited SDK API listing is the repository’s current generated reference, not a version-pinned declaration. ([github.com](https://github.com/anthropics/anthropic-sdk-typescript/blob/main/api.md?utm_source=openai))

Reject malformed result content before accepting a replay run.
When a matching result has content: null, line 109 accepts it because the content is not an array. The replay collector stores the result unchanged, and messagesToAnthropicFormat inserts it into the native Anthropic request. Anthropic does not allow null for these result content types, so the next request can be rejected.
Validate each result type’s content shape before accepting the replay run. Preserve valid error objects and empty search-result arrays.

Its client delivery shapes in `src/chat/outbound.ts` and `src/server/chat-native-sse.ts` relay the upstream `service_tier` echo on non-stream, folded-stream, and synthesized-SSE bodies, never inventing the key when the upstream omits it. | | ||
| | `src/adapters/anthropic.ts` | Anthropic Messages bridge. A `refusal` or `content_filter` stop reason yields an explicit `incomplete` event with `retryable: false` rather than `done` with that stopReason (#4312); `max_tokens` remains `done`. For a Responses client the bridge delivers that event, and the same one from the Kiro adapter, as a terminal `response.failed` ([Adapter-to-Responses bridge](transports/responses.md#adapter-to-responses-bridge)). It is the wire that defines `tools[*].strict` and `tools[*].allowed_callers`, so a rebuilt declaration carries both: an explicit `strict: true` and any `allowed_callers` the caller declared. An absent `strict` stays absent, because the Messages inbound records it as `false` and a `false` on the wire would read as an opt-out nobody asked for. Anthropic Fast uses the native `anthropic-speed` FastWire: a set decision sends `speed: "fast"` with `fast-mode-2026-02-01` in one case-insensitively merged, deduplicated `anthropic-beta` header that preserves OAuth betas. Stream and buffered `usage.speed` echoes confirm fast or downgrade to standard; no echo leaves the request assumed. `tests/adapters/anthropic/anthropic-fast-speed.test.ts` pins the wire and echoes. Anthropic Fast is opt-in: the registry marks both Anthropic entries `fastOptIn`, and `src/providers/fast-opt-in.ts` (`providerFastSwitchOff`) keeps Fast off until `providers.<name>.fastEnabled` is `true`. An off switch is provider capability `false`, applied in the FastPolicy authority (`service-tier.ts`), `resolveModelPolicy`, and router registry enrichment, so no model-level Fast toggle, `--fast` row, or proxy-generated `speed` field is produced. Native Claude Messages passthrough still forwards a `speed` field the caller sends itself, outside the proxy Fast policy. `tests/adapters/anthropic/anthropic-fast-opt-in.test.ts` pins the default, the switch, and the management PATCH/GET. For `api.anthropic.com` only, the Claude client's typed web tools (`parsed._anthropicServerTools`) follow the function tools unchanged, minus the caller's `cache_control`; a function tool of the same name wins, so the web-search sidecar's `web_search` keeps priority and `web_fetch` is still carried. No beta header is added: both tools are GA. Each streamed `web_search_tool_result` becomes a `web_search_call_begin`/`web_search_call_end` pair (the query of its `server_tool_use` in the same response, hit URLs and titles, or `failed` for an error result), which the Claude outbound renders back as the same block pair; a search Anthropic defers beside a client `tool_use` has no result in that response and surfaces nothing, and the replayed pair is dropped by the inbound translation, so a result without `encrypted_content` never reaches Anthropic. A streamed `web_fetch_tool_result` opens and closes the same cell with `fetch` set (the fetched URL and Anthropic's result content, verbatim); the bridge records it as an `open_page` `web_search_call` carrying `fetch_result`, and the Claude outbound renders it back as `server_tool_use` `web_fetch` + that `web_fetch_tool_result`, not counted in `web_search_requests`. Streamed server-tool input retains at most 4,096 characters, slicing each incoming fragment to the remaining capacity; an oversized input loses its query or URL label without losing the result. Citations are not relayed. `tests/claude-integration/claude-translated-server-tools.test.ts` pins the wire, the sidecar priority, the bridge's client stream and JSON, and the direct encoder's stream. | | ||
Each streamed `web_search_tool_result` or `web_fetch_tool_result` becomes a `web_search_call_begin`/`web_search_call_end` pair (the query of its `server_tool_use` in the same response, hit URLs and titles, or `failed` for an error result) carrying `anthropic`: that `server_tool_use` with its complete streamed input and the result block, verbatim. An orphan result, a result with a different call id, or a result whose call input cannot be parsed is dropped with no synthetic call; the surrounding text is preserved. Streamed server-tool input retains at most 4,096 characters, slicing each incoming fragment to the remaining capacity; an oversized input that cannot be recovered drops its exchange under the same rule. The bridge and the direct encoder keep both on the `web_search_call` item as `anthropic_blocks` (a fetch is an `open_page` action), and the Claude outbound renders them back unchanged, with the original `srvtoolu_` id, `encrypted_content` and `page_age`; a fetch is not counted in `web_search_requests`. A search Anthropic defers beside a client `tool_use` has no result in that response and surfaces nothing. On the next turn, `messagesToAnthropicFormat` re-inserts the client's replayed pairs (`parsed._anthropicServerReplay`) ahead of the `tool_use`, text or thinking block that followed them, for `api.anthropic.com` only. An anchor must occur exactly once across assistant history, counting string and block content alike; repeated anchors drop their exchanges and preserve the other turns. Replay requires one-to-one call/result ids and matching tool types within the same assistant turn, with the call preceding its result in the original sequence. A single forward pass tracks pending calls and rejects reversed pairs, duplicate ids and orphan results. Calls require a plain input object with a nonempty `web_search.query` or `web_fetch.url` string; malformed input, a pair without `encrypted_content`, or a pair with no following anchor stays dropped. Stored `anthropic_blocks` restore only when call id, result id, tool/result types and input object agree; malformed metadata falls back to the rebuilt pair. Citations, a deferred search and `pause_turn` are not resumed. `tests/claude-integration/claude-translated-server-tools.test.ts` pins the wire, the sidecar priority, the bridge's client stream and JSON, and the direct encoder's stream. | |

Limit the encrypted_content requirement to search hits.
Line 206 says that any pair without encrypted_content stays dropped. The validator accepts an empty search-result array and non-array result content. Anthropic also defines search errors and fetch results that do not contain search-hit encrypted_content. State that each search hit requires encrypted_content; do not describe valid errors, no-hit searches, or fetch results as invalid solely because they lack it. (platform.claude.com)

Review comment at @structure/providers-and-adapters.md at line 206:
Update the replay requirements in the documentation around
`messagesToAnthropicFormat` to require `encrypted_content` for each search hit
only. Do not imply that valid search errors, empty search results, or fetch
results are dropped solely because they lack `encrypted_content`.

Maintainer landing note (head be851db): independent review passed after three rounds. The rounds fixed the orphan-result synthesis, missing or invalid call input, and call-before-result ordering, each with a red-to-green regression. Validation is linear in block count. The lidge full suite shows 0 new failures against the dev baseline, focused tests pass 25/25, and hosted PR CI is green on the exact head. Contract and scope decisions are recorded in devlog 063. |
Summary
53a3ca2f3aontodev. Completed Anthropic server-tool exchanges replay before their original following block only when its anchor is unique, counting string-form and block-form assistant text together. Repeated anchors drop their exchanges and preserve earlier turns.bcd98cd479matches author commitf6e0f74c5e; its increment to53a3ca2f3awas applied withgit apply -3within the replay-owned file set. Preserve the carry regressions and merge currentorigin/dev, including the fix(anthropic): cap the server-tool input buffer on the incoming fragment #7232 incoming-fragment cap.web_search/web_fetchcalls with plain input objects and nonempty query/URL strings. One forward pass validates unique IDs, matching tool/result types, and that each call precedes its result. Malformed and reversed exchanges are dropped; valid overlapping calls keep source order.Co-authored-by: Vadym O bolein95@gmail.com
