Smoke-test the MCP Bundle in CI and attest released bundles - #114
Conversation
CI now builds the bundle the way the release workflow does and launches it against the fixture Dashboard, since mcpb validate does not catch a manifest entry point that is missing from the archive. The release workflow runs the same check before uploading, publishes a sha256sum file next to the bundle, and records build provenance so users can run gh attestation verify on the downloaded file.

📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe CI workflow adds a smoke-test job for the MCP bundle and limits workflow permissions to read-only repository contents. The release workflow smoke-tests the bundle, generates a SHA-256 checksum, attests bundle provenance, and uploads the checksum and bundle as separate assets. ChangesBundle workflows

Compare
gh release upload sends several files concurrently and does not roll back, so a failed checksum upload could leave the bundle published without it.
An upload can reach GitHub even when gh reports an error, so deleting only the checksum could leave the old bundle next to a new checksum.
