Process Bus Insight v1.3.0-beta.2
Process Bus Insight v1.3.0-beta.2
This stabilization beta focuses on repeatable runtime evidence before the larger v1.4 runtime decomposition. It does not add control or publishing behavior and preserves the receive-only engineering boundary.
Highlights
- Deterministic eight-stream SV isolation regression coverage
- Exact 2/4/8-cycle scope-window regression coverage
- Explicit 65536 sample-counter rollover coverage in addition to the existing rate-rollover tests
- Duplicate and forward-gap evidence checks while preserving the last coherent scope window
- Waveform and RMS coherence checks from the same selected-stream sample window
- Concurrent frame-observation and snapshot-read stress coverage
- Repeated runtime-stability GitHub Actions gate with downloadable TRX evidence
- Standardized field-evidence record for live capture and replay validation
Validation intent
The automated stability suite exercises the same ObserveFrame and GetAnalyzerSnapshot surface used by the live analyzer. It uses deterministic synthetic IEC 61850 SV frames and does not require Npcap, customer captures, or proprietary SCL files.
For a release decision, automated evidence must be combined with a maintained Windows/Npcap smoke test and a documented 30–60 minute soak session using sanitized field or replay sources.
Important limitations
- This remains a public beta, not a certified protection or timing instrument.
- Windows/Npcap packet timestamps remain screening evidence unless the capture path is independently validated.
- The repeated automated stability gate is deterministic stress evidence, not a replacement for a real-duration field soak test.
- Multi-vendor SCL semantic coverage still requires broader maintained evidence.
- Npcap must be installed separately for live capture.
Process Bus Insight v1.3.0-beta.1
Process Bus Insight v1.3.0-beta.1
This public beta consolidates SV runtime stability work and raises the repository, CI, security, and release process to a more professional open-source baseline.
Highlights
- Raw decoded SV sample waveform workspace
- Per-selected-stream waveform, RMS, phasor, and state ownership
- Coherent fixed-window scope behavior with 2/4/8-cycle timebases
- Faster waveform shape/distortion response while keeping visual scope stability
- Live-stream ordering and cleaner status/noise presentation
- Hardened BER parsing and Npcap lifecycle behavior
- SCL expected-vs-observed binding improvements, including anchored mismatch preservation
Repository and supply-chain improvements
- Build/test evidence uploaded from CI
- CodeQL analysis and pull-request dependency review
- Dependabot for NuGet and GitHub Actions
- Repository hygiene and version-consistency gate
- Structured issue forms, pull-request checklist, CODEOWNERS, support, security, and conduct policies
- Release manifest and checksum alongside the portable package
Important limitations
- This is a public beta, not a certified protection or timing instrument.
- Windows/Npcap arrival timestamps are screening evidence unless the capture path is independently validated.
- Multi-vendor SCL scaling and semantic mapping require broader field validation.
- Npcap must be installed separately.
Recommended validation
Exercise multiple simultaneous SV streams, amplitude/angle/harmonic changes, publisher restart, sample-counter rollover, and all supported timebases before relying on the build for FAT/SAT work.
Process Bus Insight v1.2.7
Process Bus Insight v1.2.7
This release keeps the Windows portable package clean and improves release reliability.
Included in this release
- Single executable Windows package for easier evaluation.
- Quick Start PDF and User Manual PDF included at the package root.
- Cleaner packaging validation for release documentation.
- Git ignore rules updated so public PDF documentation is committed while local generated reports remain ignored.
Download
Download the Windows x64 portable ZIP from GitHub Releases, extract it to a local folder, and run ProcessBusInsight.exe.
Npcap is required when capturing live IEC 61850 traffic from a physical adapter.
Notes for timing evidence
Windows and Npcap timestamps are useful for screening and troubleshooting, but certification-grade timing proof still needs validated timestamping equipment or trusted test tools.
