Summary

Ensure the parent directory of the ASP.NET development certificate export path exists before running dotnet dev-certs https -ep ... -p ....

This prevents SSL-enabled .NET container debugging from failing with exit code 3 on hosts where the certificate export directory has not yet been created. Existing directories are left unchanged, and directory creation failures propagate normally.

Fixes #640.

Validation

  • Container Tools lint and build passed.
  • Exercised missing and existing export directories and confirmed directory creation errors prevent certificate export.
  • Reproduced the original failure locally: certificate trust succeeded, but export returned code 3 because %APPDATA%\ASP.NET\Https did not exist.

What changed in this PR

Fixes #640 by ensuring the ASP.NET development certificate export directory exists before certificate export during SSL-enabled .NET container debugging.

Changes:

  • Awaits parent-directory creation before invoking dotnet dev-certs.
  • Leaves existing directories unchanged and propagates directory-creation failures.

Verdict: Human maintainer approval required; no blocking issues identified.
