The marketplace manifest declares the marketplace name `mcp-apps`, so after `/plugin marketplace add modelcontextprotocol/ext-apps` the plugin installs as `mcp-apps@mcp-apps`. The documented `mcp-apps@modelcontextprotocol-ext-apps` fails with "Plugin "mcp-apps" not found in marketplace "modelcontextprotocol-ext-apps"". The documented plugin install command fails. The marketplace manifest names the marketplace
mcp-apps, so the plugin id ismcp-apps@mcp-apps, notmcp-apps@modelcontextprotocol-ext-apps.Motivation and Context
I build MCP Apps and keep a Claude Code skill for scaffolding them, and installed this repo's
mcp-appsplugin to compare against it. Following the README:the second step fails with:
.claude-plugin/marketplace.jsondeclares"name": "mcp-apps", and Claude Code names a marketplace after that field rather than after the GitHub repo, somarketplace addregisters it asmcp-apps. This changes the install line in the three places it appears:README.md,docs/agent-skills.mdandplugins/mcp-apps/README.md.How Has This Been Tested?
With Claude Code 2.1.301 and a clean config directory:
claude plugin marketplace add modelcontextprotocol/ext-appsreportsSuccessfully added marketplace: mcp-apps.claude plugin install mcp-apps@modelcontextprotocol-ext-appsfails with the error above.claude plugin install mcp-apps@mcp-appsinstalls the plugin. Also ran
npx prettier --checkon the three files andnpm test(438 pass, 2 skip, 0 fail). This is a docs-only change, so there is no new test.Breaking Changes
None.

Additional context
Renaming the marketplace to
modelcontextprotocol-ext-appswould also make the docs correct, but it would change the id for everyone who has already installed the plugin, so I went with the docs.AI disclosure: traced, prototyped and drafted with Claude Code, which I use as my coding agent.
