The iPad dashboard rebuilt every tile and candle SVG every ten seconds, including polls with unchanged candles. Quote updates now retain the existing DOM and change only price text and the live spot marker. Charts rebuild on new candle data, time/freshness transitions, layout height changes or a price breakout requiring rescaling.

Polling runs every twenty seconds to match server prices, pauses while hidden, and uses one request/timer. The clock updates on minute boundaries and also pauses in the background. Drag auto-scroll runs only when a scrollable edge can advance; interrupted or abandoned drags cancel without leaving a continuous animation loop.

Validation: Go race tests and vet; 29 browser-script tests covering DOM reuse, quote markers, breakouts, hidden polling and iOS 10 drag cancellation. Real-browser checks verify price updates without chart subtree replacements and a clean console. This reduces confirmed unnecessary work; physical iPad battery improvement still requires observation after reloading.
