hmacsha is a simple command-line tool written in Go for computing:
- SHA-256 digests of strings
- HMAC-SHA256 signatures of strings using a secret key
It supports output in hex or base64.
This project was created for learning purposes — to help students and beginners understand:
- how cryptographic hashes (SHA-256) work,
- how HMAC adds authentication using a secret key,
- how to build and test small CLI utilities in Go.
It is not intended for production use, but as an educational example.
