OpenMetadata 2.1 Documentation — Epic

Umbrella tracking issue for all 2.1 documentation work in this repo. Sub-issues are nested below and grouped by batch. New sub-issues are appended each time the Major Release Watcher runs.

Scope

• Source: PRs merged to open-metadata/OpenMetadata main since the 2.0 branch cut (merge-base 2026-07-24) — everything destined for 2.1 and not in the 2.0 line.
• 2.1 is unreleased (v2.1.x-SNAPSHOT).
• Title standard for every child: [2.1 Docs] <Area>: <Feature>, label 2.1.
• Plan + live status: release/2.1-changelog/TRACKER.md (local). Companion: 2.1-doc-needs-filtered.md, issue-drafts.md.

Status

53 confirmed doc-needs. Batch 1 (no new UI images) and Batch 2 (clubbed UI work) are filed. Held items are not yet issued.

Progress as of 2026-10-15: 7 of 13 top-level issues done (#523–#528, #580). 1 in review (#581, PR #609). 1 in progress (#582). 4 not started (#583–#586).
