The Open Metadata Initiative was founded to create a non-profit entity for open-source, expert and community-driven projects that are dedicated to metadata management and harmonization.

The openMINDS core metadata model includes schemas that can be used to describe the general origin, location and content of research products.
A metadata model capturing Spatial Anchoring of Neuroscience Data Structures, including brain atlas definitions.
Metadata model for the consistent registration of well-defined terms as well as a corresponding library of terminologies (including links to ontological terms where applicable).
A tool to generate openMINDS metadata from BIDS datasets
A metadata model for capturing in-depth descriptions of electrophysiology experiments.
Python package for the openMINDS metadata models. The package contains all openMINDS schemas as Python classes in addition to schema base classes and utility methods.
