feat(ai): statement mapping inferred and checked on the whole file - #134
The model proposes a column mapping from the header and at most three rows (masked). The mapping is then checked against every row with the same parser the importer uses: a wrong mapping fails at the first bad row, and no import happens without that check. Tests: correct mapping passes all four rows, a wrong one fails at row 1, only the header and three rows are sent, floats are refused.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added automatic column mapping for statement CSV files, helping identify the date, credit, and debit fields from sample rows.
Statement imports now check the complete file against the proposed mapping and report issues such as invalid dates or amounts with the relevant row number.
The PR adds AI-assisted mapping for CSV bank statements and validation of the full file against the inferred mapping. It also updates the Go versions used by the module and Docker build, and the govulncheck version used in the security workflow.
The AI package sends a header and up to three data rows to the statement model, then converts the response to a reconciliation mapping. Tests check the sample limit.
Validate mappings against the full CSV internal/recon/recon.go, internal/ai/statement_test.go
ValidateMapping checks mapped headers and validates each row’s date, credit, and debit without storing data. Tests cover valid rows, row-specific errors, and malformed amounts.

Summary
Update Go and govulncheck versions go.mod, Dockerfile, .github/workflows/security.yml
The Go directive changes to 1.27.3, the Docker build image changes to Go 1.27, and the security workflow uses govulncheck v1.2.0.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 148c6
Malformed statement rows can crash validation or import, and some valid statements will fail inference, notably those with quoted headers or semicolon delimiters. Validation can also pass files that import then rejects. Fix these before merging.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to 148c6
Statement samples retain the existing opt-in, notice, masking, and response-validation controls, and inferred mappings do not directly change payments. The new preprocessing stages do not preserve the importer’s resource limits. Production integration remains unverified, limiting conclusions about external exposure.
Retained concerns
Low · security · inferred: The new pre-import stages operate outside the importer’s existing resource limits. InferMapping materializes the entire CSV before selecting three rows and before reaching feature controls; neither it nor ValidateMapping enforces the importer’s 10 MB and 100,000-row limits. A caller supplying oversized statement data could therefore incur unbounded preprocessing before import rejects it. The sample is row-bounded, not byte-bounded. No externally reachable production caller was established.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — At the helper boundary, exposure concerns the statement sample sent to the configured provider, the local process handling the CSV, and shared AI usage accounting. The mapping result grants no direct payment-changing authority. Caller authentication, provider credential binding, and deployed reachability remain unverified, so an unauthenticated or cross-tenant attack path is not established.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — The supported introduced attack condition is conditional resource exhaustion: oversized input supplied to the new helpers can consume preprocessing resources before the importer’s limits apply. Sampling three records does not constrain total parsing work or the size of an individual sampled record. Effective external exploitability depends on integration not established by the inspected callers.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The new helper does not bypass the centralized provider boundary. Feature and notice gates, masking, the existing budget check, context propagation, and response-schema validation remain on its call path. Provider errors and invalid responses return without producing a usable mapping; validation itself stores no statement data.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The inherited AI usage flow checks spending before the external call and records usage plus its ledger entry afterward in one local transaction. It has no reservation spanning the call and no reconciliation record on provider or schema failure. These concurrency and interruption limitations exist in the comparison base; the PR adds no retry loop, and increased production exposure was not demonstrated.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Before production integration, use a shared bounded parsing contract across inference, validation, and import, including a byte limit on the provider sample. Make the authorized caller explicitly enforce whole-file validation of the same bytes and mapping before persistence; parseability should not substitute for confirmation of column meaning.

Explanation
Issue #48 requires PDF or odd CSV input, standard-format output, and merchant previews before import. This PR adds CSV mapping inference and whole-file validation in internal/ai/statement.go and internal/recon/recon.go. The PR description states that PDF input and the preview screen are not included. Those coding requirements remain unmet.

Parse the sample with the statement’s delimiter.
csv.NewReader uses a comma before the model has inferred a delimiter. A semicolon-delimited statement with a comma in one transaction description can fail ReadAll because the header and row appear to have different field counts. InferMapping then returns ErrSchema, although ImportCSV supports the mapped delimiter. Determine the delimiter before CSV parsing, or preserve the raw sample until the delimiter is known.

Preserve CSV quoting in the model sample.
strings.Join removes CSV escaping from parsed fields. For example, a header field "Transaction, Details" becomes two apparent columns in the sample. The model can then infer column names that do not match the actual header, causing validation to reject an otherwise valid statement. Serialize the sampled records with a CSV writer instead.

Apply the import limits during validation.
ValidateMapping can return success for a file larger than 10 MB or a statement with more than 100,000 rows. ImportCSV rejects both. Apply the same byte and row limits here so a successful validation means the file can proceed to import.

Reject short records before reading mapped fields.
FieldsPerRecord = -1 allows short records. ValidateMapping reads date, credit, and debit without checking the record length. A row missing only UTRCol can pass validation, then panic in ImportCSV at the UTR read. Check all five mapped indexes before reading each row in both functions and return a row error for a missing field.
