[Bug]: Exceptions raised in asynchronous playback threads are lost

What happened?

If an exception occurs while playing audio asynchronously, it is not propagated or accessible from the main thread.

Steps to reproduce

1. Start playback with async_mode=True.
2. Trigger a playback failure (e.g., terminate the backend process unexpectedly).
3. Inspect the playback thread.

Expected behavior

The playback exception should be stored and available for inspection after the thread finishes.

Actual behavior

The original exception is lost, making it difficult to determine why playback failed.
