external-oidc-webhookdeployment adapter forwards every result ofconfig.CipherSuites(profile)into--tls-cipher-suitesatcontrol-plane-operator/controllers/hostedcontrolplane/v2/external_oidc_webhook/deployment.go:18-29. The existingOldTLS profile includesECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA,ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA,ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA, andECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHAinvendor/github.com/openshift/api/config/v1/types_tlssecurityprofile.go:291-298.support/config/cipher.go:33-36converts these toTLS_ECDHE_*_WITH_AES_*_CBC_SHA, which uses SHA-1. The new component is enabled for OIDC with the feature gate atcomponent.go:69-71, so a cluster using the Old profile can now run the new webhook with SHA-1 CBC cipher suites. This is a changed-code causal path to weak crypto usage.Resolution
Do not pass SHA-1 or other weak cipher suites to the external OIDC webhook. Note to reviewers: Excluding the configmap here addresses this comment: openshift/enhancements#2104 (comment)
This is a global mechanism, i.e. any configmap from any component named this way will be excluded from the component hash; I am currently not aware of any component-specific mechanism for exclusion. Given the length of this list and the very specific name used in this component, it seems to me that it's not worth expanding the framework and the scope of this PR with creating a component-specific mechanism.

Define ExternalOIDCAsWebhook as a TechPreviewNoUpgrade feature gate. The gate controls the transition from kube-apiserver's direct external OIDC authentication configuration to the external OIDC TokenReview webhook. Keep it disabled by default so existing clusters retain the current authentication architecture.
Update openshift/api and library-go for the external OIDC webhook configuration API and its shared generator. The v1alpha1 AuthenticationConfiguration type is serialized for the webhook, while the library-go generator translates an AuthenticationSpec into that configuration. Keeping the generator in library-go aligns HyperShift with cluster-authentication-operator and avoids maintaining two conversions.
…Webhook Introduces a new CPOv2 component that runs the oauth-apiserver in external-oidc mode as a token review webhook, gated behind the ExternalOIDCAsWebhook feature gate and OIDC auth type.
Configure KAS to use the external OIDC TokenReview webhook when enabled, with mode-specific authentication resources and mounts. Refactor TokenReview kubeconfig generation out of OAuth-specific code.
Generate and validate the oauth-apiserver authentication configuration when ExternalOIDCAsWebhook is enabled. Reuse a ConfigMap CA-bundle resolver for both validation and webhook reconciliation, and preserve the service-account issuer overlap check from direct KAS authentication validation.
Route HTTP and HTTPS requests through the Konnectivity HTTP proxy to honor hosted cluster proxy settings. Retain SOCKS5 for other outbound traffic. Expose management-cluster DNS fallback for the HTTP proxy so issuer access remains possible before the hosted cluster tunnel is available. Update unit tests and deployment fixtures for the dual-proxy setup.
Validate issuer and audiences for both direct KAS and webhook OIDC configurations. Check webhook readiness and KAS TokenReview wiring, including the endpoint, CA trust, and absence of client credentials. Reuse the existing Keycloak authentication and claim-mapping tests for both architectures.
