Release: develop to main (Oct 21, 2026)

Brings the Grant Finder v2 data pages to production. www.ohack.dev is still serving the Oct 16 build, where /nonprofit-salaries does not exist and /nonprofit-grants shows the old snapshot.

New

Improved

  • Both data pages work on phones now (PR Make the nonprofit grants and salary pages work on phones #404): the salary charts stack at full width instead of squeezing into a narrow column, stat cards sit two per row, the explorer table trims to the essentials at phone width, Closing Soon rows stack, and the main buttons are full-width tap targets.

Fixed

  • The old grants page rendered a March 2025 snapshot: every deadline on it had passed, and amounts scraped from text were mangled (a $110M program displayed as "110 USD"). Amounts and deadlines are structured data now, checked when the data is built.

…90 funders + curated programs)

Replaces the March 16, 2025 crawler snapshot (123 records: all deadlines
past, news posts listed as grants, regex-mangled amounts) with 38 records
generated Oct 16, 2026 from structured sources: 33 open federal
opportunities from the Grants.gov API (all deadlines in the future),
5 hand-verified recurring programs, and 20 Arizona grantmaking
foundations from IRS Form 990 data via ProPublica.

Page changes: curated programs first, federal opportunities sorted by
deadline, new Arizona foundations section, honest summary stats,
per-card source + verified date, currency formatting, and a render-time
guard so a passed deadline is never shown. Data files renamed to stable
paths (nonprofit_grants.json, nonprofit_grants_report.json) so future
refreshes do not churn imports.
Rebuild /nonprofit-grants on Grant Finder v2 data (Grants.gov + IRS 990 funders)

New /nonprofit-salaries: FiveThirtyEight-style dot-range charts (median
dot, middle-50% bar) by role and by revenue band on a shared scale,
computed takeaways, a filterable explorer over the individual filing
records (role / revenue band / state / text search), methodology and
limits written to be cited by boards, and Dataset JSON-LD for search.

/nonprofit-grants: the salary table moves to the new page, replaced by a
teaser card with the executive-director median. Added a Closing Soon
section with draining deadline bars and days-left chips on every card,
and fixed the page head, which still carried SEO text from an older
page and did not describe the grants directory at all.

Split salary benchmarks into their own page (/nonprofit-salaries) and improve both 990 pages

Expand salary benchmark sample to national data
- Dot-range chart: stack rows on small screens (label and median on a
header line, track at full width, 3-tick axis) instead of squeezing
the track between fixed label/value columns
- Salary page: stat cards go 2x2 on phones, headings step down, the
Role filter gets a full row, and the explorer table only shows
Organization/Title and Total comp at phone width
- Grants page: Closing Soon rows stack (title line, then bar and
days-left), headings step down, main buttons go full width
Make the nonprofit grants and salary pages work on phones
235 organizations (was 206), 1,163 people (was 1,126), from 87 more
under-$1M filings across the same 49 states + DC. The explorer record
list now includes the highest-paid person at each of the 30
best-paying organizations under $1M in revenue - before this change
it held zero small orgs, because it was a straight top-60 by pay.
Caption updated to say so. Data built by the Grant Finder v2 crawler
(pick_samples in src/v2/sources/salaries.py).
