This pull request significantly improves the web build and deployment process by introducing a manifest (
build.json) that tracks resource hashes, optimizing caching, and restructuring how large data files are handled. The changes also update documentation to reflect these improvements, clarify the build process, and describe new and enhanced user interface features.Build and resource management improvements:
build.jsonmanifest: Now generates a manifest with the wheel name and a content hash for every file inresources/, enabling cache-busting and allowing resources to be served with long-lived immutable caches. (web/build.py,netlify.toml,web/.gitignore, [1] [2] [3]web/build.py, [1] [2] [3]build.json) is always revalidated, while resources are now served with a one-year immutable cache, leveraging versioned URLs for cache-busting. (netlify.toml, netlify.tomlL21-R34)Documentation and user experience updates:
README.mdnow describes the new manifest, explains resource versioning, and details the improved download and caching strategy. (web/README.md, [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]README.mdnow includes detailed explanations of new UI features, such as exposure bounding, custom curve uploads, responsive controls, and how the interface adapts to different screen sizes. (web/README.md, [1] [2] [3] [4]Build script refactoring:
build.pyto orchestrate the new build process: Now stages resources, writes the manifest, and provides clearer output about what is built and staged, including file sizes and counts. (web/build.py, web/build.pyL150-R236)These changes collectively result in a faster, more robust, and more maintainable web deployment, with clearer documentation and a better user experience.
