Summary

  • Make the OpenCode 2.x GPU tool prompt request one shell call and use visible COPY_OK output to cue completion.
  • Scope the structured-output xfail to Qwen3-0.6B so Qwen3-8B results are evaluated normally.

Evidence

  • Before: Scheduled GPU run #40450348566 timed out the OpenCode 2.x tool-call scenario after repeated identical shell calls. The qualification report also flagged two Qwen3-8B xpasses for review.
  • After: git diff --check passed. Tests and a live GPU rerun were not run in this workspace.

Merge Danger

Door: two-way

Blast Radius: test-only

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Structured-output coverage applies the expected-failure condition only to the specified Qwen model; other models run the case without that condition.
    • OpenCode tool-call coverage checks for exactly one shell call with the expected command and completed status. It also verifies visible command output, no assistant text before the final response, and an exact completion reply without additional tool calls or printed file contents.

Require a single shell call with a visible completion marker in the OpenCode 2.x live tool test. Scope the structured-output xfail to the CPU Qwen3-0.6B model so Qwen3-8B passes are classified as passes.

Walkthrough

The PR narrows a vLLM test’s expected-failure condition to one model. It also exposes OpenCode trace events and strengthens the OpenCode 2.x tool-call test’s prompt and assertions.

Changes: vLLM structured-output test

Layer / File(s) Summary
Model-specific expected failure
tests/integration/sdk/openai/test_openai_responses_vllm.py
The array-of-integers case applies its expected-failure marker only when VLLM_MODEL is Qwen/Qwen3-0.6B.

OpenCode 2.x tool-call test

Layer / File(s) Summary
Tool-call prompt, trace access, and assertions
tests/integration/tests/suite/opencode.rs, tests/integration/tests/suite/opencode_v2_vllm.rs
OpenCodeTrace exposes parsed events in emission order. The test requires one shell call to run the copy-and-echo COPY_OK command, then reply DONE. Assertions check the event, command, output, and final response.

- Line 156: Add an explanatory failure message to the DONE assertion using
assert_eq!, identifying the scenario and event types so a failed live run
reveals which turn produced the unexpected response.
- Line 156: Update the assertion in the `opencode_v2_vllm` integration test to
verify the event order in the trace, ensuring `DONE` appears after
`step_finish`. Do not rely solely on `trace.assistant_text()`, which
concatenates text events without preserving their ordering.
- Around line 150-156: Extend the assertions around `trace` to inspect its
retained raw JSON events and validate that the resolved tool command is the
required exact copy-and-echo command and that the tool result contains visible
`COPY_OK` output. Keep the existing tool-count and assistant-text assertions.
