Summary

  • 31 library posts stated Sim is Apache 2.0 without qualification. Code in apps/sim/ee (SSO, SCIM, access control, audit logs, white-labeling, data retention, etc.) is under the separate Sim Enterprise License: free for development, testing and internal non-production use, production use requires an Enterprise subscription, no modification/redistribution
  • Scoped every Sim license / open-source / free-self-hosting / redistribution claim to the core, added one body sentence per post linking apps/sim/ee/LICENSE, and a plain-text clause in the relevant FAQ answers
  • Includes the sales/CRM license pass that missed docs(library): restore content dropped by automated refreshes #8525's merge
  • License statements about other products (n8n, Dify, Flowise, LangGraph, etc.) are unchanged
  • Note: govern-ai-agents-multiple-teams-enterprise-workspace previously answered "No" to whether self-hosted Enterprise features need a paid plan; it now follows apps/sim/ee/LICENSE (production use requires a subscription). docs/platform/enterprise/self-hosted.mdx still says self-hosted deployments "have no subscription" — that docs/license mismatch needs a separate decision

Type of Change

  • Bug fix

Testing

  • bun run check:library-content (80 posts), check:site-urls, bun run lint, bun run check:audits (54 passing)
  • Verified exactly the 31 targeted posts changed, each now mentions the Enterprise License, and only Sim's own claims were edited

Checklist

  • Code follows project style guidelines
  • Self-reviewed my changes
  • Tests added/updated and passing (new tests pass the test-audit authoring gate)
  • No new warnings introduced
  • I confirm that I have read and agree to the terms outlined in the Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

[Low risk] Updates documentation and license claims across content files.

The PR appears safe to merge; no actionable issue was established in the changed content.

Summary

The PR revises licensing language across 31 library posts to distinguish Sim’s Apache 2.0 core from features governed by the Sim Enterprise License.

  • Qualifies open-source, self-hosting, and redistribution claims in article bodies, comparisons, and FAQs.
  • Clarifies that configuring self-hosted Enterprise features does not remove their production subscription requirement.
