both .bbin files to /opt/eight/lib/subsystem_updates/, and the NATS library,
binaries, config, and unit to their final paths. Use port 8822 and state each
destination, including /usr/lib64/ for libnats.so.3.11.0, /etc/nats.conf for
nats.conf, and /etc/systemd/system/nats-server.service for the unit; ensure the
binary destinations match the guide’s later commands.

Thanks for writing this up. The cross-generation details and the .swu SoC warning are useful, and both CodeRabbit threads are resolved. A few things before merge:
- Rollback: the backups from Step 1 are never restored anywhere. Please add a rollback section (inline note on Step 1).
- Hub firmware scope: Step 4 stages
firmware-frozen.bbinfor everyone on Option 2, sofrankreflashes the hub thermal controller. Please scope the "universal" claim to the hardware you've verified (inline note). sp-statussample: it doesn't match the real output (suggestion inline).
Minor: nats stream subjects raw lists per-subject message counts, not rates, so "Inspect active message rates" reads better as "Confirm messages are arriving".
Also, the required Site checks workflow is waiting on maintainer approval because this PR comes from a fork. I'll approve it once these are addressed.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy liftCopy the root SSH key from its effective location.
The Core installer writes the key to the path that
sshdactually reads. That path can be under/home/root, rather than/etc/ssh/authorized_keys. On such an installation, both copies fail, but the procedure continues and can leave Slot B without the user's SSH key. Resolve the effective key path, copy it to the corresponding Slot B path, and verify the result before unmounting. (github.com)🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy liftVerify Slot B before writing to it.
The command assumes that
/dev/mmcblk0p7is the inactive backup partition. It does not confirm the active slot or stop ifmountfails. A failed mount lets later commands write under/mnt/slot_bon the running filesystem; an incorrect partition mapping can write to the wrong slot. Check the board and active slot, confirm the mounted device, and stop on any command failure before copying files. The root-access guide also limits its partition commands to a verified Slot A boot path. (github.com)Based on learnings: instructions that write disk images must confirm the target device path and hardware variant before writing.

Thanks for the thorough revisions. I re-ran pnpm check on this branch locally (CI does not run for first-time fork PRs) and it passes, and I verified the sp-status strings, the rootfs_a/rootfs_b → mmcblk0p5/p7 mapping, and the stock sshd_config_readonly contents against an MT8365 Pod 3 hub. One blocking issue in the Slot B script, plus two minor notes you can take or leave.
Stop chmod-ing Slot B's /etc/ssh to 700 and append root's key to /etc/ssh/authorized_keys instead of replacing rewt's. Also re-enable a pre-existing nats-server unit on rollback and fail Step 7 early when /tmp/frankenfirmware is gone after a reboot. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
