Skill Prompt Evolution

Unified task-observer skill for OpenCode — continuous skill discovery and improvement with Spanish-first pattern detection, session database mining, and auto-install.

Features

  • 8-phase workflow: DB Mining, Post-Session Report, Skill Audit, Skill Personalization, Weekly Review, Change Consistency Check, Prompt Review, Observation Mode
  • Spanish-first patterns: 14 intent categories with 200+ Spanish phrases as primary detection, English as secondary
  • QWERTY typo correction: Built-in keyboard adjacency normalization for Spanish QWERTY keyboards
  • Session database mining: Automatic detection of workflow candidates from OpenCode session history
  • Auto-install: Node.js installer patches existing config files with only what's needed
  • Self-contained: All scripts, rubrics, and references bundled — no external dependencies

Known Limitations

  • Plan mode auto-load: In OpenCode's GLM-5.2 model, the system-reminder blocks skill() tool calls in Plan mode. The skill loads correctly in Build mode. This is a known OpenCode runtime limitation, not a skill bug.
  • Only tested with OpenCode: Compatibility with other coding agents (Cursor, Windsurf, Aider, etc.) is unknown and should be explored in future work.
  • Pattern detection: Spanish patterns are comprehensive but may need expansion for regional variations.

Installation

From GitHub

git clone https://github.com/tmogeid/skill-prompt-evolution.git
cd skill-prompt-evolution
node install.js

From npm

npx skill-prompt-evolution

Uninstall

node uninstall.js
# or
npx skill-prompt-evolution-uninstall

Options

--config-dir <path> OpenCode config directory (default: ~/.config/opencode)
--dry-run Preview changes without writing

What the Installer Does

  1. Copies skill files to ~/.config/opencode/skills/task-observer/
  2. Patches AGENTS.md — adds auto-load instruction for session start
  3. Patches prompts — adds PRE-FLIGHT CHECK to plan.txt, build.txt, boss.txt
  4. Patches opencode.json — adds skill permission for Plan agent

All patches are idempotent — running install again won't duplicate content.
