A fast, minimal, privacy-first account switcher for Steam and Epic Games on Windows.
Built with Tauri v2 (Rust core + lightweight webview). It swaps each client's own local session files to change accounts — no passwords or tokens are ever stored, read, or transmitted by AccSwitch.
Grab the installer from the
GitHub Releases page —
download AccSwitch_*_x64-setup.exe, run it, done. The app updates itself from there.
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) with the Evergreen WebView2 runtime (preinstalled on up-to-date systems; the installer sets it up if missing).
- No administrator rights needed. Everything AccSwitch touches lives in your own user
profile —
%AppData%,%LocalAppData%, andHKCUregistry keys. It only ever reads machine-wide (HKLM) keys to locate the clients.
Honestly, you can — it's the project that inspired this one (see Credits) and supports far more platforms. AccSwitch exists because it's deliberately scoped to two platforms, ships a small Rust/Tauri binary instead of .NET + a bundled browser, and stays out of your way: tray icon, 1–9 hotkeys, done.
Why no Discord? Discord isn't included — its native account switching already covers
this well. Its session storage is undocumented internals that can change without notice,
so a third-party switcher there is more support risk than value. (The code is kept in the
repo behind a discord build flag, in case that ever changes.)

GameUserSettings.ini+ theAccountIdregistry value. - Per-platform account chips, 1–9 quick-switch keys, custom dark UI with your own icons.
- Lives in the tray; Ctrl+Space surfaces the panel; close/Esc hide to tray.
- Sign out & open flow to add new accounts easily — your current session is snapshotted first, so signing out never loses an account.
- Launch on boot, in-app updater with patch notes pulled from GitHub releases.
AccSwitch only ever moves files and registry values that Steam, Epic, and Discord created themselves. It never touches login forms, passwords, 2FA codes, or auth tokens beyond copying the client's cached session bytes verbatim. Everything stays local — no cloud sync, no telemetry (the telemetry seam exists but is disabled by default).
Requirements: Rust, Node.js 20+, and the Tauri v2 prerequisites for Windows.

Much of the platform file/registry research and the freeze/swap model derive from that project. AccSwitch is an independent reimplementation in Rust/Tauri, scoped to Steam and Epic Games.
