1.25.2 — Script sizes and ToUnicode repair checks

Changes since 1.25.1:

  • Size a super- or subscript run by its letters and digits: an exponent whose minus sign a symbol font sets a design size above its digits (as TeX does) keeps its markup; a run of signs alone, or with signs more than a quarter larger than its letters and digits, is still sized by its largest glyph (#603).
  • Skip a subset font's ToUnicode repairs where the font itself shows the CMap is right: the repair through a /CIDToGIDMap for a CMap keyed by code, and the renumbering of a subset that kept its glyph indexes (#605).

No API changes.

Release preparation: #606.

Full changelog

1.25.1 — Font decoding fixes

Changes since 1.25.0:

  • Read simple fonts (Type1, TrueType, Type3) one byte per code when their ToUnicode CMap declares a two-byte codespace: text shown as a kerned run of short strings no longer loses every two-byte string (Income Statement read as Iometatent). The stale-CMap check for Type1 fonts judges such a CMap too, and the page detector counts such a font's text byte by byte (#595).
  • Read a Type1 font whose /Encoding names no base encoding through the built-in encoding of its embedded program (PDF 32000-1:2008, Table 114): TeX's fonts read their ligatures (efficiency, was eciency), curly quotes, dashes and math symbols. A code the program leaves at .notdef reads as nothing, the word space excepted, and the base-14 width fallback measures such fonts as they read (#596).
  • Take a repaired ToUnicode CMap for a string of one or two glyphs only on evidence beyond short common words: engagement no longer reads as engageaent, AND as ANa or Three as ThaTe (#597).

No API changes.

Release preparation: #604.

1.25.0 — Async positions and underline detection speed

Changes since 1.24.0:

  • Node: extractTextWithPositionsAsync, the async variant of extractTextWithPositions: the same arguments and items, run on the libuv thread pool so a slow page no longer blocks the caller's event loop (#592).
  • Underline and strikeout detection no longer takes quadratic time on pages drawn from many thin filled rects or short strokes: a page of about 200,000 thin rects went from about 40 s to under 0.5 s, with the same marks (#592).
  • The linux-x64-gnu Node binary is cross-built for a GLIBC_2.17 floor again, so it loads on Amazon Linux 2023 (the managed AWS Lambda Node runtimes), RHEL 9 and Debian 11 (#586).

API: Node extractTextWithPositionsAsync.

Release preparation: #593.

1.24.0 — Text paint and document information

Changes since 1.23.0:

  • Report the paint each text run was shown with: TextItem gains fill_color and stroke_color (8-bit sRGB, read from DeviceRGB, DeviceGray, DeviceCMYK, ICCBased by component count and Indexed palettes; None for Separation, DeviceN, Pattern and CIE-based spaces) and render_mode (the Tr mode, so invisible text and clipping-only text can be told apart). Extraction and markdown are unchanged (#579).
  • Read the document information dictionary's /Author, /Subject, /Keywords, /Creator, /Producer, /CreationDate and /ModDate beside /Title, each decoded as a PDF text string (#579).
  • Decode the document /Title as a PDF text string: titles in PDFDocEncoding no longer read with U+FFFD, titles in UTF-16LE no longer read as mojibake, and titles given by reference are read (#579).
  • Extract text a page shows with the " operator, which the page parser skipped together with the spacing and line move it makes (#579).
  • Take an ActualText span's weight from the paint of its first painted glyph rather than from the paint in force at the span's end (#579).
  • Keep two lines of small type apart when their baselines lie less than 5 pt apart: a stacked table header at 4.7 pt on a 4.5 pt pitch no longer comes out as words zipped from both lines, and type of 8⅓ pt and above groups exactly as before (#580).

API: TextItem::fill_color, stroke_color and render_mode (Node fillColor, strokeColor, renderMode; Python fill_color, stroke_color, render_mode; the pdf2md --items-json fields), and the PdfProcessResult / PdfTypeResult fields author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation_date and mod_date (Node and WebAssembly in camelCase, Python as attributes, and the pdf2md --json / detect-pdf --json members). Rust literals of these types must include the new fields.

Changelog

Sourced from @firecrawl/pdf-inspector's changelog.

[1.25.2] - 2026-09-28

Changes since 1.25.1.

Fixed

  • A super- or subscript run is sized by its letters and digits. A sign set from a symbol font a design size above them, as TeX sets the minus of an exponent, took the run past the size a script may have, so an exponent that reads its minus sign lost its markup. A run of signs alone, and one whose signs are more than a quarter larger than its letters and digits, are still sized by their largest glyph. (#603)
  • The ToUnicode CMap of a subset font is no longer repaired where the font shows it right as written. The repair through a /CIDToGIDMap, which takes the CMap to be keyed by glyph index, is skipped when the CMap has entries for more of the codes the map sends to other glyphs than for those glyphs' indexes. A CMap keyed by code, as the specification has it, was read through the map wherever the repair read a string better, so a quoted word shown as one string read as other letters (“me” as yaYz) and table cells lost their % and $ signs. The renumbering of a subset whose width array looks renumbered is skipped when the embedded program, where it says what its glyphs are, reads more of the codes as the CMap has them than as renumbered: a subset that kept its glyph indexes read (2)(4) as 041061. (#605)

[1.25.1] - 2026-09-27

Changes since 1.25.0.

Fixed

  • Simple fonts (Type1, TrueType, Type3) read one byte per code when their ToUnicode CMap declares a two-byte codespace. A CMap written with <0000> <FFFF> over one-byte entries, one of them spelled in four hex digits (which kept the CMap two bytes wide), paired the bytes of each even-length string into codes it has no entry for, so text shown as a kerned run of short strings lost every two-byte string: Income Statement read as Iometatent. The check for a stale ToUnicode CMap on a Type1 font now judges a CMap declared this way too, and the page detector counts such a font's text byte by byte as well. Composite (Type0) fonts keep reading their codes as their CMap says. (#595)
  • A Type1 font whose /Encoding names no base encoding (none at all, or an encoding dictionary without /BaseEncoding) reads through the built-in encoding of its embedded program, which PDF 32000-1:2008 (Table 114) makes the base of such a font. TeX's fonts carry their layout in the program and have no /Encoding, so their ligatures (efficiency read as eciency), curly quotes and dashes ({ read for an en dash)

Updates @opencode/plugin from 2.0.10 to 2.0.27

Changelog

Sourced from @opencode/plugin's changelog.

v2.0.27 — 2026-10-12

Highlights

  • Built-In Worktree Tools: Ask OpenCode to use worktree_create, worktree_list, and worktree_remove in Code Mode. You can create isolated worktrees, move sessions into them, and remove them with normal edit approval. (#53981)
  • Safer Remote Pairing: The first opencode pair --remote now warns that it will expose your server and asks for confirmation. For non-interactive use, pass opencode pair --remote --yes. (#54561)
  • Installable Web App: Use Chrome or Edge’s Install button to install the OpenCode web app, including when it runs behind an authenticating proxy. (#53905)
  • Clear Session Failures: Desktop and TUI timelines now show execution errors that happen before or between model steps instead of ending without an explanation. (#53826)
  • Automatic Project Cleanup: Projects whose directories no longer exist are automatically hidden from the project list. Opening the directory again restores the project. (#54354)

Core

Improvements

  • Added the built-in Code Mode tools opencode.worktree_create, opencode.worktree_list, and opencode.worktree_remove. Removing a worktree requires edit approval, and force: true can discard modified or untracked files. (#53981)
  • Added confirmation before opencode pair --remote first enables internet access, plus --yes/-y for scripts and other non-interactive use. (#54561)
  • Automatically archived projects when all known directories disappear. Reopening a project restores it, while surviving clones and linked worktrees keep it active. (#54354)
  • Raised the ChatGPT OAuth input limit for gpt-6.1-sol and gpt-6.1-sol-fast to 500,000 tokens. (#54668)
  • Added Vertex AI routes for Interactions and Mistral models. (#54175, #54058)

Bug fixes

  • Fixed updater detection for symlinked home directories and package-manager installations, increased probe timeouts, and now report unavailable updates clearly when the installation method cannot be detected. (#54609, #54622, #54672)
  • Fixed GitHub Copilot routing for Gemini, Anthropic, and Responses models when live model metadata is unavailable, and accepted interleaved Claude reasoning values. (#54208, #54210, #54201)
  • Fixed Google Vertex Application Default Credentials when CLOUDSDK_CONFIG points to a custom gcloud configuration directory. Thanks @H-Max. (#54164)
  • Prevented ChatGPT token-sharing sessions from sending unsupported mid-session reasoning-effort updates. (#54085)
  • Blocked file:// access through Code Mode’s fetch, which now returns a clear filesystem-access error. Thanks @ferdinandyb. (#54510)
  • Fixed remote workspace file operations so driver-provided filesystem overrides are used correctly.
  • Preserved subagent notifications when location services are evicted, and propagated well-known configuration updates across locations with bounded HTTP timeouts. (#54072, #53821)

TUI

Bug fixes

  • Displayed session execution failures that occur before or between model steps directly in the timeline. (#53826)
  • Preserved a saved session’s unavailable model selection instead of silently replacing it with a fallback. (#53822)
  • Added syntax highlighting for C++ module interface files such as .cppm, .ixx, and .cxxm. (#53853)
  • Summarized integrations with multiple credentials as a connection count, preventing long labels from crowding the integration name. (#54054)

Desktop

Improvements

  • Made the web app installable from Chrome and Edge, including deployments behind cookie-based authenticating proxies. (#53905)
  • Updated the session column layout and text wrapping for clearer long content. (#54020)

Bug fixes

  • Displayed session execution failures that occur before or between model steps directly in the timeline. (#53826)
  • Fixed command-palette selection so newly arriving higher-ranked results become active until you explicitly choose a result. (#54275)

What's Changed

New: docx/layout — lay out documents as Word does

A new docx/layout entry point that works out where everything lands on the page, the way Word does. It writes the page numbers of tables of contents, page references (including \p and their own formats), PAGE/SECTION fields and caption numbers (SEQ) "clean", so Word opens the document without asking to update fields. It can read an existing .docx (to fill in a template's page numbers or check Word's own pages), and it returns the pages of a document and what is on each. Where it meets something it doesn't follow yet, it stops and says so, or it makes a best guess if you ask it to.

What it covers:

  • Text measurement: measures text with Pretext in the page's fonts, using Word's width tables, the font files you give it, fonts the document embeds and Office's own fonts. Handles italics, the bold Word makes itself, kerning, ligatures, and letters a font lacks. Supports Greek, Cyrillic, Vietnamese, Latin Extended, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Arabic and right-to-left text, plus East Asian font hints and high ANSI fonts.
  • Lines and paragraphs: makes each line as tall as its fonts' ascents and descents, with pictures on the baseline. Squeezes the spaces of justified and distributed lines, and covers paragraph borders, auto and contextual spacing, and indents in characters and lines. Also covers tabs (decimal tabs and tabs past the margin), soft hyphens, hyphenation, hidden text and marks, tracked changes, superscript, small caps, emphasis marks, run borders, fitted text, phonetic guides and drop caps.
  • Lists: numbers lists and places their numbers as Word does, including bordered and Word 6 list numbers and list styles.
  • Tables: sizes tables given no widths (autofit), widens columns for long words, and handles merged cells and tables inside cells. Breaks rows across pages, repeats header rows, and covers set row heights, borders that meet and space between cells. Also covers table style parts, text running up or down cells, deleted rows, floating tables, and tables a share of the page wide.
  • Sections, columns and page numbers: lays out columns of different widths and evens them out before continuous section breaks. Covers next-column sections, kept paragraphs taller than a column, gutters and booklets, and page numbers in every format, with chapter numbers and restarts.
  • Footnotes and endnotes: numbers and places them, continues them across pages, and lays them out in columns, table rows and kept paragraphs. Also covers separators and continuation separators, and endnote pages.
  • Drawings and frames: wraps text around pictures, shapes and floating tables, including drawings that overlap. Covers text frames, VML text boxes, shapes, objects and pictures, and header pictures.
  • Equations: lays out linear and built-up equations and follows the document's math settings. Covers accents, limits, brackets, scripts and pre-scripts, phantoms, boxes and equation arrays.
  • East Asian layout and compatibility: covers document grids, text running down the page, Japanese line rules, compressed punctuation and grid indents. Supports compatibility modes 11, 12 and 14, suppressTopSpacing, useFELayout, HTML divisions, and imported documents (w:altChunk).
  • Verified against Word: layout probes and Word's PDFs of them are kept in scripts/layout-probes, and every line of each demo is checked against Word's own output.
