Problem Description

On chat.z.ai web chat (especially in Agent mode), when the model generates files or exports artifacts, a dedicated file download panel appears in the UI.

However, as soon as the user sends a follow-up message or asks a clarification question in the conversation, the previous turn's download panel disappears completely from the view or gets discarded. If the user did not immediately download the generated files before replying, they lose quick access to the generated downloads and must ask the model to re-generate or re-export the files, wasting tokens and time.

User Impact

1. Accidental Loss of Generated Assets: Users naturally reply to continue the conversation (e.g., "Thanks, can you also adjust line 40?"), only to find the previous files are no longer clickable for download.
2. Redundant Repackaging Calls: Users have to re-prompt the model to recreate the download package.

Actionable Suggestions

1. Persistent Artifact/File Drawer:
   • Provide a persistent "Files & Artifacts" drawer or sidebar icon where all files produced across the entire conversation remain accessible and downloadable at any time.
2. Inline Attachment Persistence:
   • Keep the file download block permanently anchored to the specific assistant message bubble that produced it, instead of clearing it upon new turn dispatch.
3. Download All Generated Files:
   • Complement with a global session export option so users can retrieve any file generated throughout the session history.
