Hi, I’m Yikun, and I received my PhD degree in Statistics at the University of Washington, Seattle.
I’m interested in nonparametric statistics, optimization on manifolds, high-dimensional statistics, and causal inference, with specific focuses on:
- Kernel smoothing and mode clustering with directional data;
- Linear convergence theory of gradient-type algorithm on nonlinear manifolds;
- Statistical inference with high-dimensional covariates and missing data;
- Causal inference for continuous treatments and positivity violations;
- Transfer learning and domain adaptation with generative models.
🔭 On the applied side, I am broadly interested in tackling challenging problems in astronomy and beyond, particularly those related to detecting and analyzing the cosmic web through statistically principled approaches.
