What changed
WEBVIEW2_ADDITIONAL_BROWSER_ARGUMENTSvariable through Tauri's window configuration.DevToolsActivePortfile.Why
The
v0.1.13release failed only on the Windows installed desktop UI smoke. Repeated runs failed before any test ran withsession not created: DevToolsActivePort file doesn't existon WebView2/EdgeDriver150.0.4078.105. Tauri's official WebDriver example currently reproduces the same Edge 150 failure, while the previous Zvec Studio release passed on Edge 149.EdgeDriver 150 never established a usable WebView2 automation endpoint. Direct environment-variable and registry attempts also did not work because wry explicitly supplies its own WebView2 browser arguments. The desktop shell now merges the official environment variable into Tauri's window configuration, allowing the CI-only child process to open a dynamic CDP endpoint that Playwright can attach to.
Impact
Normal application and release behavior is unchanged: the remote-debugging argument is only present when a caller explicitly supplies the official WebView2 environment variable. The Windows smoke still verifies sidecar startup, collection creation, navigation, and all collection detail tabs.
Validation
cargo check --manifest-path apps/desktop/src-tauri/Cargo.tomlcargo test --manifest-path apps/desktop/src-tauri/Cargo.toml --lib(6 passed)node --check apps/desktop/tests/installed-app.windows-smoke.mjsgit diff --checkThe definitive validation is the Windows release smoke run linked in the PR discussion.
