Fork-only CI validation of AndreaBozzo#912 against upstream master 4232d92. Changes remain on isolated branch. Regression integration tests exercise actual SQLx SQLite modes rwc, rw and ro. Do not merge this validation PR; upstream submission follows after verified tests.

Closed after verifying the original work is covered by merged upstream contribution. Same exact source head as upstream merged AndreaBozzo#990; fork CI verification receipt retained.
