DatabaseConfig::default()currently enables environment loading, socreate_connectorreaches the SQLite guard. The test should set this field explicitly so a future default change cannot make the test pass without exercising that guard.Suggested fix

Thanks, this fixes #912 and, by passing the URL through unchanged, #839 as well.
Checked locally on Windows, since CI runs the SQLite tests only on Linux: cargo test -p dataprof-db --features sqlite --test sqlite_url_options passes 5/5, so the sqlite:///C:/... form built by sqlite_url works there too. Reverting connectors/sqlite.rs alone fails three tests, and reverting lib.rs alone fails explicit_sqlite_mode_survives_unrelated_database_url, so both halves are guarded.
Two additions to the description before merge:
Fixes #839:sqlite:///absandsqlite://relnow reach sqlx with the meaning sqlx gives them.- The behaviour change: environment credentials (
DATABASE_URL,SQLITE_*) are no longer applied to a SQLite connection string.
The inline notes are non-blocking.

Non-blocking: connect accepts any sqlite: prefix here, but create_connector in lib.rs still routes only sqlite:// to this connector, so sqlite::memory: (the form sqlx documents) is rejected as unsupported before it gets here. Matching the prefix there too would line the two up:
} else if connection_str.starts_with("sqlite:")
|| connection_str.ends_with(".db")
|| connection_str.ends_with(".sqlite")
|| connection_str == ":memory:"Fine as a follow-up.

Non-blocking: with environment credentials skipped for SQLite, a URL that carries its own (sqlite://user:pw@host:1/x.db) now goes to sqlx as is, and sqlx reads user:pw@host:1/x.db as a file name. #897 adds a check in SqliteConnector::new that rejects credentials and ports on SQLite URLs; that can land separately.
Fixes #912.
Fixes #839:
sqlite:///absandsqlite://relnow reach sqlx unchanged, preserving its path semantics.Root cause
SqliteConnector::connectreconstructedsqlite://{db_path}fromConnectionInfo, dropping all URI query parameters. This silently discarded security-sensitivemode=ro,mode=rwandmode=rwc, along with other sqlx-supported options.Changes
sqlite:URI to sqlx unchanged, allowing its native parser to honormode,cache,immutableandvfs(and preserving absolute vs relative URI path semantics).:memory:to SQLx connection strings.DATABASE_URL,SQLITE_*) are no longer applied to SQLite connection strings.mode=rwccreating a missing DB,mode=rwrefusing to create a missing DB, andmode=rodenying a write.Testing status — 2026-10-19 JST
Current tested head:
f791a56b54193cd81042310fea3a28925243ae2c(the latest change explicitly enables environment credential loading in the isolated regression; no production logic change). GitHub-hosted runs on this head are all PASS:Earlier CI failed only at
cargo fmt --all -- --checkforsqlite_url_options.rs; commit8c791b9applies the exact formatter layout without changing runtime semantics. The PR is now Ready for Review. These are hosted CI outcomes, not a claim of local Rust-toolchain testing.AI assistance disclosure: GPT-6 generated the patch and tests; the changes were independently inspected against the issue and upstream source. Maintainer validation remains necessary.
