MariaDB fallback selects MySQL Connector/J when the native driver is unavailable, but previously kept a
jdbc:mariadb:URL. This change usesjdbc:mysql:for the resolved MySQL driver while retaining the configured database type, custom/native drivers, and fallback opt-out.MariaDB
UseSSL=truenow requires encryption with bothsslMode=REQUIREDand legacyrequireSSL=true. Verified modes force certificate validation on both drivers; hostname verification fails closed when unsupported by legacy Connector/J. Weak, duplicate, malformed, or TLS-disabling overrides fail closed. CI tests the real loopback handshake with Connector/J 9.5.0 and 8.0.12, rejecting a non-TLS peer before sending authentication.Validation at

20261003T035844327103Z-58e3ecff88b5F2 is a separate AdvancedCore nullable-acquisition defect, addressed in a companion change. The three real-database pool-pressure reruns remain pending component-runner access; no MCHT full suite was started. Library publication and rebuilding deployed shaded consumers are still required after merge.
