VotingPlugin/src/main/java/com/bencodez/votingplugin/VotingPluginMain.java:1967-1969
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winRetry the time-queue save after a failed unload callback.
TimeQueueHandler.save()clears its in-memory queue only after everyServerData.addTimeVoted()call returns.ServerData.addTimeVoted()persists each entry throughServerData.saveData(). If that persistence fails, the queue still contains the pending vote, butunloadCompletedis alreadytrue, so a repeatedonUnLoad()returns without retrying the save. The next startup loads only the persisted timed-vote cache and can miss that vote.Suggested fix

addVote()calls from being cleared without persistence. Do not replace the bounded wait with an unbounded termination loop.

Keep the stopped vote timer visible until producers close
When a Votifier event arrives after shutdownVoteTimer() returns but before the Votifier overflow queue is closed and listeners are unregistered, VotiferEvent.onVotiferEvent() calls plugin.getVoteTimer().submit(...). Clearing this field turns the expected RejectedExecutionException into a NullPointerException, so the handler never reaches its durable overflow fallback and the accepted vote is lost. Keep the terminated executor reference until producers are fenced, or make admission handle a missing executor as rejection.

Keep cache clearing out of direct processQueue() calls.
TimeQueueHandler.processQueue() is public, and VotingPluginMain exposes the handler through its generated getTimeQueueHandler() accessor. The head moved clearTimedVoteCache() from the scheduled callback into processQueue(). A direct caller can now clear the persisted snapshot before dispatching the first vote. If the process terminates while that event is in flight, later votes remain only in memory and cannot be recovered. The base direct call did not clear the cache; only scheduled processing had this existing gap.

Persist pending votes when a vote is cancelled.
processQueue() clears the persisted timed-vote cache before dispatch. After dispatch, it removes only the current vote. If that vote is cancelled, the method returns while later votes remain only in timeChangeQueue. A crash before a later save can therefore lose those votes.
Call persistPendingVotes() under persistenceLock before returning from the cancellation branch.

Avoid an unbounded wait on the persistence monitor
When a vote-timer task stalls in prepareTimedVoteDispatch or completeTimedVoteDispatch, it holds persistenceLock across the file write. After the executor’s one-second shutdown deadline, onUnLoad() calls this method on the Bukkit lifecycle thread, where entering the synchronized block is uninterruptible and has no timeout; therefore a storage operation that ignores interruption can hang server disable and prevent all later cleanup steps. Move the potentially blocking persistence outside this monitor or use a bounded shutdown handoff.

Fence the old YAML writer before reload continues
When timed-vote persistence remains blocked for more than one second during a plugin reload, this timeout lets unload finish while the daemon still references the old ServerData configuration. The replacement instance can then update the same ServerData.yml, after which the old worker may resume and have saveTimedVoteCache() write its entire stale YAML object over those newer server-state and queue updates. Use a generation-safe journal/handoff or otherwise ensure an old worker can no longer publish after reload proceeds.

Reschedule processing after checkpoint failures
If prepareTimedVoteDispatch encounters a transient YAML write failure during normal scheduled processing, this rethrows out of the one-shot executor callback; finally only clears processing, and scheduleRetry() is used only for admission rejection. The vote therefore remains in memory without another processing attempt until an unrelated date change or shutdown, and a newly admitted vote may not yet have any durable checkpoint, so a crash in that interval loses it. Retain the vote as currently done but arrange a bounded retry after the write failure.

Serialize SDK saves with timed-vote checkpoints
When an AdvancedCore heartbeat/version callback calls this saveData() while TimeQueueHandler is checkpointing a vote, the SDK path only locks the delegate internally, whereas ServerData.saveTimedVoteCache() locks the GenerationFencedServerDataFile wrapper and writes the same shared YAML directly. The generation lease permits both current-generation writers, so the two saves can concurrently serialize/write ServerData.yml, potentially corrupting the file or losing the timed-vote checkpoint. Use one shared monitor for both publication paths, such as synchronizing this wrapper method and all direct writes on the wrapper.

Hand off sign persistence without blocking the unload caller
With at least one stored sign and a timed-vote checkpoint stalled in disk I/O, saveForShutdown() returns after its bounded wait, but this subsequent Signs.storeSigns() → ServerData.setSign() call enters mutateSavedData() and waits uninterruptibly on the same publicationMonitor() held by the stalled writer. Consequently, the Bukkit lifecycle thread can still hang indefinitely, preventing listener cleanup and the remainder of SDK shutdown. The new bounded timed-queue worker does not cover this subsequent persistence path. Capture the sign state and transfer its publication to a retained shutdown worker rather than reacquiring the YAML monitor on the lifecycle thread.

Release retained publication leases after a successful retry
If shutdown sign publication fails once and a subsequent storeSignsForShutdown() retry succeeds, the first attempt's lease remains outstanding forever. This failure branch discards the only reference to that lease, while each retry acquires a new lease and closes only its own. Consequently, even after the sign payload is durably saved and all writers terminate, beginGeneration() continues rejecting replacement startup until the JVM restarts. Retain failed-attempt ownership in a form that a confirmed successful retry can release. The existing failed-then-successful sign test mocks ServerData, bypassing this facade; exercise that sequence through the actual fenced publication path as well.

A partial startup retains its original failure while unloading initialized subsystems independently. Repeated unload retries failed cleanup steps, and late vote admissions retain the existing overflow path. Timed-vote checkpoints retain their original file generation while persistence finishes.
Shutdown sign persistence now captures detached coordinates before handing one sign batch to a retained worker. A stalled timed-vote file write therefore does not make the subsequent sign save block listener cleanup. Ordinary runtime sign-saving APIs remain synchronous. Rejected or failed shutdown attempts retain their original snapshot for an explicit retry. The accepted batch now reuses its original facade publication lease across retries, while concurrent retries coalesce. A different operation cannot release that retained ownership. Once persistence succeeds, a failed display refresh retries only the observation and does not repeat the write. Queued work or a cancelled observation cannot certify durable publication or release generation ownership.
The generation owner also retains pending publication and writer termination during process exit within a 15-second budget fixed by the first disable entry. Lifecycle cleanup does not wait for that drain. Expiry or interruption does not acknowledge persistence or admit a replacement generation.

The prior-head hosted Maven pass does not validate this follow-up. Older precompiled getter callers remain incompatible with the changed FoliaLib getter descriptor; the synthetic probe recompiles against the current API, which is not whole-library or native scheduler acceptance. No live external MySQL, Paper/Folia startup, gameplay or universal exactly-once external-effects acceptance is claimed. Failed SDK publication retains ownership conservatively; recovery is not claimed merely because shutdown returned.
