Preservation overwrites rows that this save intentionally wrote.
preserveValue replaces the candidate value with the previous raw value whenever the previous row is unresolved. It does not check whether the application just wrote a different value at that key. The values are compared only for equality, so a value written by the application counts the same as one the adapter normalized.
Path 1: Velocity emergency votes fail permanently.
- Configurate drops a persisted

Path 2: Bungee delivery-state updates are reverted.
- A SQL twin can be bound to a journal row with invalid batch metadata (
sqlTwin.copyCachedVoteBatch(vote)gives -1/-1). updateServerVoteandupdateOnlineVoterewrite that key throughupdateServerVoteJson.- The row is still unresolved, so preservation restores the old bytes. The
RewardDeliveredchange is lost on disk. - The call still reports success, because
matches()compares only UUID, Service, Time and VoteId.
A non-object lane or owner in the previous journal has the same effect: preservation replaces every new row under it.
Restore the raw previous value only when the candidate holds the adapter-normalized form of that value. A different candidate value means the application wrote it, so keep the candidate.

When a Velocity votecache.json contains a null TimedVoteCache child, Configurate normalizes the document to an empty root and this change now accepts it. loadJsonEmergencyVotes consequently sees no timed key, while preserveUnresolvedCacheRows only protects VoteCache and OnlineCache, so the next routine save permanently erases the unresolved timed outbox record. Keep reload fenced for normalized-away timed entries or include TimedVoteCache in the raw validation/preservation path so Velocity retains the same recovery evidence as Bungee.

The new timed-row quarantine is Velocity-only. With Bungee JSON storage, a journal containing a valid timed vote alongside a null or scalar TimedVoteCache sibling is still accepted; load() skips that malformed sibling, and when the valid vote completes, rewriteJsonTimeVotesAndRemove() clears the entire timed lane and rewrites only decoded queue entries, permanently deleting the unresolved recovery record. Add equivalent Bungee validation or preserve raw timed rows during rewrites.

Malformed SQL-linked cache journals could lose their original vote identity and create an extra cached reward owner during recovery. Preserve valid vote and source-row identity when batch positions are corrupt, keep those batches ineligible, and fence new staging until a complete checked SQL/JSON recovery succeeds. Healthy prepared work can continue.
Both JSON adapters retain unresolved ordinary records during unrelated updates and cleanup. Reserve raw journal keys during SQL fallback and persist delivery progress for the same owner while retaining corrupt replay evidence. Opaque ordinary rows remain preserved and fenced through save and restart.
Validate timed recovery rows before either adapter replaces loaded owners or publishes a cache rewrite. Unreadable fields and keys that cannot retain distinct integer-index owners quarantine the journal. Velocity conditional checks use its actual normalized flag coercion. Valid empty and legacy journals, ignored optional values and supported coerced flags remain usable.

2dc99a0(byte-identical to the frozen follow-up candidate):Live server/end-to-end delivery testing has not been run. Required current-head hosted checks and review feedback must be assessed after publication. Unresolved review threads remain visible; this PR must remain unmerged while acceptance is outstanding.
